It's interesting that Mike is usually the better player than James. I'm not sure how they were having trouble jumping over those spikes. Just hold the jump button down. Makes me think that a turbo switch might have been on and Mike figured out to turn it off. Hope Mike's Duo has new capacitors or the audio and other things will start going to shit pretty soon. Replacing caps on those is mandatory. Same with the Turbo Express. We've gotta change out Dave's Duo caps next week and give it s-video so that all of the Turbo recording on Game Sack won't fall on me. Doing his NES tonight.
.   I thought the same thing about the turbo button. Its not surprising that Mike is the better player. If you watch a lot of the "story" videos or interviews behind AVGN, James borrowed a lot of the games and systems from Mike to review. Mike was also the one that encouraged James to make more videos. Without Mike there would probably be no nerd.

I think the turbo switch was up on the jump button causing problems.  It was nice to see some Turbo love from the AVGN especially since Splatterhouse is my favorite Turbo game ever.

It's funny, I haven't bought a single game because of the AVGN but I have bought several games after watching Classic Game Room including Truxton.

My favorite AVGN video is the one where he reviews all the Batman video games, dressed up at Batman and getting all pissed off at some of the more shitty Batman games out there.

I'm still awaiting him to review Athena for the NES.

What I never understood was how the stuff he reviews or touchs on jumps in price when its usually junk or such a poor representation of a system I.e. sega cd that it still jumps in price for those of us actually interested in said system game or series.

When Mike Matei, his buddy, posted his "hidden gems" videos on the NES and SNES, all the games spiked in price. Hagane was a $60 game before that review... it now goes for $250+ If people thought it was bad before, its about get much, much worse. Cinemassacre's channel gets a ridiculous amount of views.
Hey, you.

hahaha, same thougts. tho they both quite sucked in playing that game. most probably due to it's quite higher quality compared to most of his shitty NES games. needs some quality practice.

I am starting to wonder if AVGN and CGR and other big-time classic game reviewers aren't reviewing Obey more is because they are late to the bandwagon and they want to grow their collection before announcing how good some of these games are.  It's clear that when some of these big names review a game favorably, ebay prices spike (which means everything spikes).  I bet they are new to obey and don't want to hype it until they have solid collections.  And I'm good with that.  If they never speak of Obey again, I'll be happy because it's only going to make it harder to find reasonable deals.

.  I dunno. AVGN has had a turbo and games on his shelf for many years.
