.....Its hard to get rid of games I grew up with but I haven't played them in over 2 years....What kills me is these aint games to me but apart of my childhood as the majority was acquired by me or my parents.

Listen to your own words here.  This says to me:  I really don't want to get rid of a tangible part of my childhood or the connection these games have to my parents.

Don't do it, or at least just get rid of the mistake purchases you made as an adult.  I can guaranteeTM that you will want everything back from your childhood again, bad or not, in time.  You will also grow to treasure the connection to your parents and your own past with the EXACT same games you had back then.  I also say you have made good, fun memories with the new "adult" purchases too, probably a lot of it is stuff you dreamed about as a kid.  Am-I-right?

I predict these games (in general) are going to become like vintage autos are to older generations.  I can think of nothing else our generation has to cling onto that no longer available (EDIT: Well, arcade machines, too  :-").  Movies and music is re-released.  Games are emulated, but it's the tangible physical object I like.

Keep it and you will be a lot happier in the future, think of it as an investment in your future happiness in addition to your great family.

If anyone is pressuring you to sell, bundle up the "crap" adult purchases, put everything else in "your" space in the closet and satisfy everyone.
.  Sound advice. I agree.

I wouldn't sell anything. I would give everything to my kids and tell them not to sell anything because the items will be family heirlooms and those you are not allowed to sell. Sorry ebay...u are not allowed to touch my shit.

Some people have noticed that I'm selling a bunch of my TG16/CD stuff here recently.... Bottom line is that stuff is stuff I got into much later (end of high school, college age years)  The stuff I grew up with... DOS PC games, some Atari 8 bit stuff, some NES, SNES, N64, and Genesis stuff... that stuff I wont let go of.  Its a part of my childhood I can always run back to when this adult world gets too taxing.

If you feel a nostalgic attachment to the stuff then PLEASE keep it.  You will regret it later... a few bucks now probably wont make a big difference in the long run.  If you really feel the need to sell some of it at least, choose one console and a handful of what were your favorite games.  Or maybe things that you distinctly remember getting (Oooh I got that game on the last Christmas Grandma was still with us or ***insert your story here***)  At least keep a piece of your childhood tucked away in a box somewhere safe.  You never know when you might want to escape back to it.

It takes time, patience, and dedication, but here is the best way to do it:

1. Make a few ebay accounts; take care to register via proxy service so as to not associate your true IP with multiple accounts.

2. Buy games from yourself for ridiculous prices to create a desirable sales history for the titles you're selling. Shill bid any other listings that appear using your alternate accounts.

3. Join gaming forums; enquire about the rarity of the title and gossip about how expensive it is getting.

4. Solicit popular youtube channels to do a feature on said title(s).

5. Send your game(s) off for VGA grading.

6. Put them on ebay for insanely ridiculous prices and, optionally, have your dong exposed discretely in the item photo.

7. Link your auctions at Nintendo Age.

This requires a bit of effort, but is the most satisfying achievement these folks will ever realize in their lives.

and the most retarded part is.....if this is indeed the way these clowns run the turbo scene on ebay, they are still morons because this type of income is not considered decent. I just can't see them making decent yearly salary based on doing all that work, shill bidding, doing all that account stuff, and finally making a few G's on 2 or 3 most rarest games.

They need to go and get a real job. Because selling Turbo stuff is just laughable and definitely low income job. They are losers.

Getting out of gaming = me being dead. So I'll leave detailed instructions to my loved ones on how to:
1) mail Sylphia to Esteban.
2) raffle off my Might and Magic III Cluebook and favorite Order of the Griffon on these forums.
3) sell the rest of my games for max gouging profit on ebay. No one buying Turbo in 2014 deserves any deals. f*ck 'em. I'd rather leave a windfall for my sweetheart.

this whole discussion is nonsense nonetheless, since no sane person would ever retire from turbo gaming till death does one part of it.

Fortunately, the big PCEFX user deathmatch/grudgematch rumble is next week. The following day is the big OBEY price crash everyone has been waiting for.

Hard to say if I would ever sell them.  I see myself just packing everything up and shoving the box in a corner of the attic.  None of the kids in the family are into retro games.  If I did sell for whatever reason I would use the same method that I bought them.  Games I got on ebay would be sold on ebay.  Games I got here (very few) would be sold here.

Games currently in play:
PS3: COD Ghosts
TG16: Boxyboy

Yup you heard correctly, If you was to get out of gaming. How would you sell off your collection?  Would you piece oit your rare games? Ebay them 1 by 1 or as one huge auction.

Or even little bundles of games?

Any advice would help. Thanks.

(4) I actually don't have any money so I can't really buy any of your games. Maybe, like one, if I am lucky. Seriously...

Maybe if you'd get your Turbo Doodle on, people would send you more games for free to do future Turbo Doodle episodes...   :-" :-" :-"
