Hello retro collectors!

I understand market place rules denote that prices are needed so would anyone be kind enough to value my beloved collection?   I’m just touting this question around a few UK-centric sites including this one.

Everything is in stunning condition (see the painstakingly accurate descriptions).

I have been collecting for 25 years with the SS, PSOne and DC collections all being brought from new as and when from Raven Games London and Video Game Centre at the times.  All games are were bought from an arcade action perspective and some titles are extremely obscure even today.

I am not wanting to use eBay although I have 100% positive feedback.

However, I have 2 problems:

1)  I need shot quick, and I mean a couple of weeks quick as the reason for sale is the mrs is having our third.  The words “Cash Converters” and “the tip” have been threatened.  Hell hath no fury!!!
2)  Therefore I can't really sell in dribs and drabs, the whole lot in one fell swoop (to one or more parties at the same time) and the accepted price will reflect this.  Not desperate for cash, rather space more so.  Would love this collection to go to a good home (homes).

The last 24 hours have been a rollercoaster ride.  Some people have been lovely.  But I've mainly been bombarded with abuse on-line with literally hundreds of PMs and emails asking how much for the lot or how much for 1 odd item or how much for shipping when none of these questions are applicable.  I tried to explain as clear as possible that I kindly wanted a value from a kind soul for the lot. with an honest backstory.  If it was up to me I would keep it believe you me.  But our new addition will be special, Down's special, say no more.   

So I have no idea about message board culture and ebay pricing.  I have been out of the "game" for a decade, an old friend suggested to me the best places to ask for a valuation from experts hence my postings on-line. 

I just want rid for a fair price in the UK quick, I have no time to split and if Raven Games, CEX or Videogamecentre were still in business I would just take it there.

Where is the best place to get a valuation then please? 

I've heard the French and Germans are big collectors with money.  Any lists of their message boards would be hugely appreciated.  I wanted it to remain in the UK though and off of ebay.

Here's the main problem: you're basically asking someone to do the work on pricing for you for free.

You have a ton of stuff there, assume it takes like 5 minutes to look up the price on each item and jot it down in Excel or something.  Going through all your stuff and doing that would probably take at least a several hours, maybe less if the person knew the system well enough to ballpark prices off the top of their head.

Why would I or anyone else spend a couple of hours valuing this for someone with no indication they would actually sell it to me, or even "trust" that price.  If it was 5 games sure, most people would be happy to help on prices, but you've got a lot of items there.

You have some nice stuff there, I (like probably everyone else) would be interested in a couple things but not all of it.  My advice: part out the good stuff that is known to have high value and sell to interested parties, then list the rest on ebay at 99c auction and let it go. 

If you want to get the absolute maximum that this is worth be prepared to do a lot of work and pay an auction site their cut.  Also, if you think you're going to get people to pay ebay prices on this (or almost any) forum you are going to be in for a rude awakening.

Saying that they'll probably give you a terrible amount for your lot, you'd be much better off selling on a forum or eBay.

I was in the export business for japanese games for a while. i'll do my best to give you an accurate price you could ask for the lots.

Saturn lot ; Boxed saturn is 30$ in Japan, as for the game, you have a few quality games/shooters, i would say for games you could get about 175$ worth of games. console +games +boxed accessories :250$ (based on Japanese priced)

Playstation boxed : 25$
as for the games, you have a couple quality title, but they arent worth as much as their us/eu counter part in Japan. All in all maybe 215$ for the games.

accessories+games+console, i would ask about 275$ max

console goes for about 14-20$ boxed.
games: only 4 expensive games : gunbird 2(35$) ikaruga (25-30$) jet grid radio (18$) and street fighter 3(13$) the rest are 5-$ games. Even the 10year sonic thing isnt 10$ worth.

i would say ; games for 160$+accessories + console = 250$

Megadrive system is 14$, all your games are about 10$ or less, so i would go for 100$ for games. Sell the lot for 115$


im myself a collector, and i bought most of those games for my own collection, and i helped a lot of people buidling theirs since 2012. I hope this helps.

keep getting dozens of pms saying they give me 200 quid for one game! for lots of different games, some 100 quid per game so it was all quite encouraging.  same story for some of the hardware too.

so ive had several experts give me a value for all of it now so i now understand what it is worth.

when i get a minute i will put it up for sale with prices finally!!
