Or it outputs RGB natively so you can get like a DIN / SCART cable and shove it in whatever monitor you use.

but, composite on any CRT looks perfectly fine.

I think most MSX computers are just composite out.  Its those pesky towns and x68000 computers that have to make it difficult.

It's also worth noting that the HB-F1XV (and the HB-F1XDJ which is pretty much the same computer) is easy to mod for S-video output; you can even solder an S-video jack to the part of the motherboard where the RF modulator normally sits and hence you don't have to drill into the case.
