If Pcedai stays down one thing I would love to see on the software bible is the Japanese text for game titles. It made it very useful for searching for videos and guides for pce games and looking for games on yja.

Is there a good source for these somewhere that I could copy/pastre from?

I am sure that you know about these sites already however they list both English and Japanese game titles:

C-Games: http://www.c-games.info/index.php?id=004&platforma=PCE-CD

PCECP: http://pcecp.com

Redummp: http://redump.org/discs/system/pce/

Video Game Den: http://www.videogameden.com

and chrismcovell dumped the PCE_Catalogue (in Japanese)

PCECP seems to be doing the same for me. (Windows 8 64bit)

I have tired installing the Japanese language pack and the Japanese language option for Firefox.  This may be an issue with PCECP as other Japanese sites show fine.

Can someone confirm if they can see the Kanji Name field correctly on PCECP who has their PC set to native Japanese?

General Tip for you:

If you are copying between web pages and your PC, notepad etc.  You will need to change your language support options for non-Unicode programs to Japanese.  Otherwise when you copy text from the web page to notepad the text will change to blocks and ?????????

To change this:

Control panel / Region / Administrative and click Change System Locale and set this to Japanese

(note region is 'Region and languages' in Windows 7)

However changing this does have a side effect!

As you have changed the 'support option for non-Unicode programs' to Japanese it does what is says on the tin!  So for example in DOS '\' will now show as:

Hey, have you ever considered adding in the Special Version HuCard games (i.e. Final Soldier Special Version)?

Video game Den has a good list here.

I would like to have more information on them in an easily accessible location, and adding them to your site would be great!

I might add the Special versions although it will probably be a short note in the existing pages as there's not much to say. There are still a few titles I have to add and have just not got round to yet (such as the Karaoke discs).

I personally would appreciate a separate page for each of the Special Version games.  One reason is that I believe that some of the Special Version games are literally only 2-5 minute games, so they would mostly only be interesting for collectors, while some of them are full version games with extra options, which would then be more interesting for gamers.
