WTT: PCE CD-ROM2 Drive for Camp California CIB
« on: August 08, 2014, 11:47:14 AM »
I am trading one of my spare drives for a      CIB   Camp California.

PCE CD-ROM² Drive:
-completely RECAPPED
-CLEANED
-RELUBED
-all pots adjusted to flawless play of music AND games
-original Laser still fitted, pot NOT turned up in power
-original middle gear carefully drilled, NOT greased (would swell from that), has enough slack now
-original gear still working fine (tested ~10 hours with ICFTD), NO DROPOUTS in the videos!
-Taiyo Yuden are read fine (burnt with 15x on modern drive)

If you have any questions, please contact me.
Should you have any other offer, that might be interesting, please let me know as well!

Just thought i'd mention that Camp California didn't come in a box in case you or a CIC Camp Cali owner were unaware of that.

Thanks, didn´t know that  O:)

Be prepared to spend $150-$250 for a copy of this game! Unless one of the members here are willing to let go for less. I lucked out and got my copy for $150 sealed. By the way it is a terrible game....or at least I think so...
Titles to complete... Caught them all....

Didn't you say you got a copy of this game in that sick lot you picked up for $100? Does that mean you have 2 copies sealed? Or 1 opened, 1 sealed?

You've got bad taste.  Camp California is a solid B platformer, much better than truly terrible games like Turrican or Impossamole.

Price Charting says that brand new/sealed it's a <$77 game. I guess we can finally agree that they're full of crap since the game doesn't sell for less than $350 CIC now.

The only thing we can agree on is you don't know how to use price charting...
The last recorded "New sale" was in 2012. It shows 0 "New" sales volume for that game in past 2 years so it has no data to update. So it is correct stating last recorded new sale was for $77 on 9-9-2012. If you looked at the rest of the prices you would see it shows an average volume of 3 sales per year for complete, selling at $170(3-2-2014) and but also being listed at $250 and expiring off ebay (6-16-2014) due to it not selling. Always click into the tabs to see what they are basing it off of so you can see whats going on not just blindly going on the site and not even taking the time to actually read the page.

Apparently it's YOU that doesn't understand that site, as they're saying flat out that it's worth $77.  If you dig into their reasoning, as you did, it's obvious that it's a flawed site and not to be trusted, which was Black Tiger's point.

Another reason they suck is that it misses auctions, such as the one that sold 8/18.

Edit (stripped big box of txt on why i think i'm right): Fine w/e i see no point on even going back and forth about this any farther.

Too late, chief.  :P

Nowhere did i see any sales pricing showing its worth $77 today.

Like I said, you obviously don't understand that site, as the prices in the box above the tabs are what they consider to be the current market price.  Click on 'how is this price calculated' under the down arrow next to the price and you'll find this explanation:

Quote
Overview of Our Methodology

At PriceCharting.com, our goal is to track the market price of all video games over time. We collect completed sales from eBay (listings without a buyer are not included). Listing data from Amazon and Half. And sales data from other online retailers.

We then combine this information to calculate the current market price.

And if you look at the chart, you'll see the price is steady at $77 from that auction to present.

I stand corrected i see the graph showing the line. They should just list new as unavailable since they gave no current data. It never hurts to still click the tabs to get where the price is coming from though.
