Why Robin Williams?  Why?  You were one of us:  you bought an NES, a huge TV and named your daughter Zelda.  So much talent. Goodwill Hunting, Aladdin...so sad.  Anyone on the street could have told you how much you meant to them....  :(
THANKS TO ALL PCEfx members who have helped fix my hardware and add to my games library!  What a thrill!

It's been years since I've watched Good Morning, Vietnam.  Think I will squeeze that in before bed tonight.

Very sad that someone who made making others laugh appear to effortless, was fighting so much inside of himself. I know he had publicly discussed battles with drugs and alcohol .. and there were talks of recent depression. So unfortunate that someone couldn't make him feel .. how so many felt about him. RIP funny man.

Nanu Nanu !

I thought his comedy was forced and un funny and he had a horrible reputation among comics as a joke thief.  That said he is amongst the greatest serious actors I have ever seen, especially in awakenings.  I am not sure he was acting when he displayed pain he really was a tortured soul.  Not really funny to ME but my god an amazing actor.

Watched Bicentennial Man recently, didn't think I'd have to miss such a funny guy so soon. I hope the newest "Night At The Museum" movie isn't the last thing that he did before he passed.

This hurts. Seriously.

I remember watching Good Morning Vietnam and, even as a young kid, being moved; knowing this guy was special. And the first time I ever cried in a theater, I'm not ashamed to say, was during the, "It's not your fault" scene of Goodwill Hunting. My dad was sitting right next to me, with tears in his eyes as well.

Robin Williams was a treasure. An absolutely wonderful artist. He put everything he had into his work. He was captivating. I didn't always love the stuff he was in, but I always loved him. I'm so sad that he's gone. He was just one of those guys that I always took for granted. I thought he'd always be there. It's a terrible tragedy, but I'm thankful to him for all the joy he brought the world.
Games I Need: Bonk 3 (HuCard), Legend of Hero Tonma, Magical Chase, Soldier Blade, Super Air Zonk.

Goooooooood mooorniiiiing Vietnaaam!

I literally just watched Hook a couple months ago, the first time with my nephew, who's at that age where he can't really appreciate it (14). But the wife and I and other family members watched it with more than just nostalgia.

I'm only a little surprised nobody has mentioned Mork and Mindy. That more than anything defined Robin Williams.

Another unmentioned gem was The Birdcage. And of course, who could forget his role-defying stints in Death to Smoochy and 24 Hour Photo? Even if the latter wasn't that great, Robin Williams was so much more than just that stand up comic who played funny roles hilariously.

RIP

Wow, just returned to computer this morning, and reading about this, that happened while I was away.

All I can say, is if anyone here is not familiar with his stand-up, give that stuff a look sometime. I liked his stand-up, and film work.

I know he had issues with alcohol, and had spoken about it at times.

Well, that's unfortunate.  He was a bit of a ham and sometimes over the top, but overall he was dang funny and a treat to watch.

Huh, I knew he named his daughter after Legend of Zelda (and was a huge fan of that game), but I didn't realize he was such a huge gamer overall. Thanks for sharing.
