Robin Williams, dead at 63

Yeah, I just learned about his love of "The Legend of Zelda" too, having even named his daughter Zelda, and saw the first commercial he did for Nintendo. I believe it was from a FB post that ragtime shared. But yeah, pretty cool!

Anyhow, it's tragic and like Dennis Miller said, if even someone like Robin Williams could get to that dark place and actually go through with it, anybody ca, etc. I didn't understand it when I was younger, but I guess you gotta live life long enough to do so, rack up enough regrets, mistakes, setbacks, failures, etc.

As for depression and suicidal ideology I can relate....I struggle with that, mostly from my multiple tours of duty in Iraq ........  It took me a long LONG time to even accept help let along acknowledge that yes I do have PTSD .....

but with the support of my wife, family, friends, and having my dog (and protector) nearby me I feel stronger than ever.

Ah, a military veteran. Yeah, suicide rate is high in your line of work... Homicide rate as well.

Thank you for your service! And glad you're dealing with all the issues that come from living that type of life while on tour. I had a friend who went to Iraq and had a hard time readjusting to normal life. He'd wake up in the middle of the the night and hop on the lawnmower and start cutting the grass. Didn't even realize what he was doing. Roommates had to wake him up. Crazy.

So who here would want to see Robin made int a character for a Zelda game?


In many ways I could see this as being a very touching tribute.  In others it may seem in poor taste and ham fisted.


I think in the end...the family and creator of Zelda (I'd name him but spelling ehhh....) oh he'll Myomoto. Lol...


Would need to agree..it isn't really something Nintnedo could just say yes to....they would need the ok for the family to utilize his likeness I would imagine.  Plus who is to say Japan would  want a beloved game franchises stamped with an American actor just because American fans say so?


I don't know...I think IF it were to happen it would need to tie in the father daughter aspect....for another it would need to be done with a lot of thought class and sudalty. Hitch may seem as an odd phrase when mentioning Robin as someone who was known for being sudal.  Although when he wanted to do a serious movie he really could.

RIP Robin William man in any movie or talk show he was a riot  O:) He was influenced by Jonathan Winters,who also passed away a few years ago and was a comic legend.

I guess i shouldn't be shocked,robin williams has been in and out of rehab so many times i lost count 

That was great. I never saw that before.

Of course, I love Jonathan Winters. Even when he was on Scooby Doo. 

And, yeah, I can't believe Robin Williams is gone.

The first movie of his I saw was Popeye.  It's the first movie I remember watching in a movie theater. I must have been 5. It may not be one of his better movies, but I've never forgotten that experience! Nearly 35 years later he is still one of the most entertaining people I've seen.
