Ok, it arrived today.  Question:  How the hell do I get my Duo apart?  I don't see any screws.

Quote
note: For those pesky screws you'll need a tamper resistant torx bit, T-10.

I'm looking at the screws and they look different than the T-10.  Are the screws different on US Duos?

This is the T-10

However, it looks like I need a bit that fits around something shaped like that...

Edit: N/M, I found it:

At least, I'm pretty sure that should work.  It works on Genesis cartridges and Nintendo stuff, and looks like it'll fit the Duo screws.

If you look at this picture above, the third image down, these are the type of screws that is in my Duo-R. You need tamper-proof/tamper-resistant torx bit, T-10. It might be another name, on mine torx bit it says T-10. They look like torx bits, but they're hollow in the center.

Are these the type of screw bits you need?

Nope.  I need the second one down, I think.  If you have a Genesis cartridge handy, the screws in the US Duo (mine, at least) are exactly like the screws in the back of the Genesis carts.

I did some checking around and I'm pretty sure the one I linked above will work.  I'll let you know when it comes.

I would be interested to know how this went in a US Duo.

Unfortunately, I don't know yet...

My giant fingers accidentally pulled out one of those wires, so I need to reattach is somehow.

I'd definitely be interested in seeing if you have any success with the laser on a US unit.

Christ...I would have heart attack if that happens to me. Next time use needle nose pliers to loosen it.

Actually, that's what I did.  The pliers slipped off the side and ripped a wire out.  Believe me, I screamed out a few choice words.  Luckily, I have a friend who repairs all sorts of electronics for a living and is going to fix the wire for me.
