WTB Mysterious Song
« Reply #60 on: December 29, 2014, 02:30:05 AM »

Any latest news on the 'Mysterious Song' re-release???  I was hoping to be playing it around this time :(

Given the crazy shenanigans that occurred with the first pressing, I will be shocked if the second pressing goes smoothly.

Of course, I hope I am wrong.

I just placed my order after the holidays. I can't wait to finally play this.

But I need to ask, what happened with the first pressing?

Ha! What *didn't* happen.

You can find the old thread. The incompetence at the pressing plant was astounding. Pressing a mixed media (CD-ROM with data + Red Book) in a "nonstandard" (PC Engine) format shouldn't actually be too difficult, but the folks at the pressing plant have no skills, don't communicate well (even with each other, at the plant!), and fall back on  a generic script/procedure even when they are SPECIFICALLY TOLD NOT TO DO SO.

Several different people handled the job, instead of one person who was intimate  and familiar with the unique aspects of pressing a PC-Engine disc. Every time the "case worker" (ha!) changed, new problems ensued (imagine Old Rover and Keranu explaining the same thing over and over and over to different folks handling the job).

So many test pressings...botched by the plant due to their poor communication/directions between the "case worker" and the "dude in the plant who runs the software to make a test pressing" (I forget the fancy name for this disc).

It was absurd.

Damn.  I hope the 2nd run doesn't have nearly as many encountered issues as with the 1st pressing.  This should've gone smoothly.......

I was just coming to ask the same thing. Also I sent a PM to you concerning my ship to address. I ran into an issue with my order to Aertherbyte and would like to avoid having to go through that again. Though Andrew was a great help while the issue was happening.

I will be on the horn with these slowpokes today to find out WHAT DA FACK. They screwed off all November due to incompetence, and then December came and went without the shipment showing up. Never again will I use Nationwide. At least this time there should be no shipping issues, as I'm on the mainland now. I never did hear back from the USPS police investigators about all the missing shipments during the first run.

Okay... I got on the phone with the project manager and he says that due to the xmas season, it wasn't even finished. He said he would personally take care of it himself and have them shipped out and they should arrive next Thursday. Fanflippintastic... way over two months late.

They're on the way, but will they match what was ordered and will they work?  With these goobers, you never know for sure.

Do you know whether the wonderful dudes over at Frozen Utopia are still accepting pre-orders on the 2nd pressing with all this pressing shenanigans going on??

Ooo.. Put in another preorder. :P  Hopefully the black hole that sucked up all of the copies (3?) of the first run that were sent to me has dissipated and I'll finally get to play it. ;)
