I have not seen it in years, but I saw it when it was new, and I didn't think of it as a bad film, though not anything great. I thought it was goofy fun, for what it was, back in the early-mid 90s. It was one of those movies, where if I caught it on TV, flipping through channels, I might leave it on, even if I wasn't paying attention to it 100%.
I notice there is a 60 minute documentary attached to this new release. John Leguizamo is mentioned, and it also mentions archive footage of Bob Hoskins. What I'm curious about, is if the documentary is going to be mostly positive, or if it will touch on some of what John Leguizamo mentioned about how one group wanted to make a film for older folks, the other more of a children's film. Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo drinking together on set while making the movie, since they knew it was going to turn out somewhat of a mess, anyway. etc.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00KXWHCSI/It's a Region B Blu-ray release, for the UK market, but it just may turn up in the US, Canada eventually due to this release.
The price is not bad, minus VAT, for importing, if one has the ability to play Region B Blu, or if one opts for the DVD version of this new release, ability to play region 2 PAL.
