Battle Royal.
« on: October 27, 2014, 09:26:32 PM »
I used to love pro wrestling. Now not so much. I dislike sports entertaiment. I love old pro wrestling. Real belts, replica belts and toys etccc... Who likes Battle Royal. I love old wrestling games. The game made me want a Turbo Grafix 16. I love the game for what it is. The first home game to talk. Great graphics. I wished the game play was more wrestling. I love the look of the NEC wrestling lady. I love the Hue Card or Turbo Chip Card. The characters are great. I just do not like the mangers fighting in the locker room to pick the wrestlers. 2 things out of the whole game I do not like. I give it a 9 out of a 10. =P~ I realy wanted the game in the early 90's.  I'm 39 years old. I looked at the advertisements and dreamed of that game. And the Turbo grafix 16 system. I was realy addicted to games back then. :D I think me and a family member rented it at the video store and the system. I think he did not like it. But I can't rember what I thought about it. I'm geting older.

What do you guys think of it. It gets forgotten about. Also did Champion Wrestler get released for the American market. It gets lost over time also. Mike and Tom Presents on YouTube for got to review it. Battle Royal is my faviort game for the system and made me fall in love with a great game system. I realy like the snazy game. Before I had the system I downloaded it but no sound was available. The Emulator suked .

I realy like the wrestling belt. I'm going to make 7 real wrestling belts one day. Exact copies of belts in the wrestling video games. Zinc alloy and gold plate. The same as the belts are made on the TV. Sega Wrestler War 3 belts, Saturday Night Slam Masters 1 belt, SNK 3 Count Bout 1 belt, Chapion Wrestler 1 belt, Tag team 1 belt. NES Pro Wrestling 1 belt,  Segas Body Slam 1 belt and Battle Royal 1 belt. I love etched belts. I love making my own belts. I will make them real soon can't right now personal issues. I think a real belt from Battle Royal will be a killer project.

The music rocks in the game. And it is a real challange to beat the game. It rocks to play that wrestling game that seems to be obscure to most wrestling game fans. 8) Why is that.

it's a serious blast with multiplayer.  It's one of those games that's only ok single player but becomes a fantastic night with friends!!

Just like Sonic Spike!!

Speaking of wrestling, please don't dislike modern 'rasslin' because of the crap that's on Monday nights with EWW, the recent episodes of Impact Wrestling (Wednesday night's on Spike TV) have actually been pretty good lately.  That and ROH/NJPW are absolutely fantastic.

Highlights of AJ Styles vs. Adam Cole from ROH All Star Extravaganza 2014-

I would absolutely love to own a replica wrestling belt from Battle Royal.

I, too, love your enthusiasm for the game.

Don't forget the "catch phrase" that each player can say to taunt his/her opponents.

"YOU DIE!!!!"

I played this with my brothers/friends twenty years ago, but it never really enthralled me (I'm not a big wrestling fan).

That doesn't mean I don't appreciate it, though.

Battle Royale is such an awesome game, especially multiplayer. I can not wait to pick it up and play it again.

One of my most hated games for the Turbografx. Graphics and sound are quite average, and I can't quite for the life of me get a grasp of the controls. I find it very limited in its movements.

I watch a lot of old pro wrestling. Some new. But the game made me want a great system. I love the game for what is is. I would love to see a updated verson. Same wrestlers. Plus 250 more like Fire Pro Wrestling. The same ring, arena, and 12 more. Same style graphics but improved like Fire Pro Wrestling . More matches like cage etccc... I realy like the game. I just do not like that the game has no wrestling holds but 1. And the dang locker room fights to pick the wrestler. I like the art style. And the art in the instruction booklet.  Like I said back in the day I dreamed of the game. Now my dream has come true. I own it.

Did Champion Wrestler come out here or in Japan only. I would also like to know what dose that game go for in price. Do I have to mod my machine to play it. How many of you watch Mike and Tom Presents. They review every wrestling game ever made but Battle Royal.

I did not realize that Champion Wrestler was a PCE game. No, it was never released for TG-16.

Glad you enjoy the game.  I didn't' care for it at all.  The controls....the character animations...eh....didnt care for it back in the day either.  I remember buying it at Electronics Boutique, playing it for 20 minutes and returned it to the store immediately.

Anyone play the other type of pro wrasslin' game, Tsuppari Dai Sumo?  I got it as part of a lot but couldn't figure out what I was doing, so I spent more time making faces than anything.

It is technically impressive for running 4 - 6 decent quality sound samples at once.

I know I always ask you for random stuff (ha!), but do you know of anyone who has sound clips of the (isolated) voice samples (specifically the taunts/catchphrases)?

this question is open to all, of course, but Black_Tiger is likely to have these sound clips and all the music from Champions Forever Boxing sitting on a hard drive for me.

Thank you, comrade.
