Thats what I did...after messing around about an hour and a half. Just watch the ending, I am sure you don´t have to feel to guilty for not having finished by your on means.

Glad i'm not the only one... heh... the first time i fought him, he couldn't have been more than 2 or 3 hits away from dying... but i was almost dead and had maybe 5 seconds until an eclipse restored my health.  And of course he had to launch one of those impossible-to-dodge volleys at me and killed me.  I've made it to him 3 times now with 7 lives and have yet to get that close again.

There has to be a pattern, but every time i think i have it figured out, i start getting my ass kicked. heh...  I'm about to pick up a metronome and set it to his firing interval so i'll have a better idea of when to go into "dodge" mode.

It's mostly about getting used to the controls. It's more like piloting a mech than a typical shump. I don't usually take any hits on the final bosses unless they're about to die and I just stop dodging.
