While cool, I don't think that is the case. I have heard of a run of duos that were glossy and very limited. I think I have one,,,can't be 100% but pretty damn sure.

That Duo looks like sanded with super fine grit, masked off any parts where paint shouldn't go, primed and then spray painted and clear coated using an airbrush.

It's not exactly glossy, but I DO have this super-rare white DUO with limited edition 10-button controller.

... Unfortunately, it only plays Bloody Wolf, Red Alert, and Final Zone II.

looks laquered to me... take the card cover off and hit it with a hair dryer, if it starts to get a little sticky or gooey from the heat, its definitely laquer. Never heard of a glossy-finished NEC console
