WTS/T: Turbo Express, fully restored
« on: December 23, 2014, 12:26:53 PM »
Hello friends.

So I recently repaired a friends Turbo Express, and as luck would have it, the planets aligned, and I found ANOTHER Turbo Express on Craigslist.  As suspicious as that sounds  :-" But, nothing here is un-kosher.

Anywho, I bought it solely to fix it, and pass it onto someone that has yet to obtain one for their collection. When I bought it, the system was dirty, neglected, and silent. It was sort of like those ASPCA commercials with the depressing music and shelter dogs. On a related note, always opt for a shelter dog! So, I replaced every cap on the board, and cleaned the battery contacts, board, and outside of the system. This thing is squeaky clean, and looks/sounds great!

There are a few minor cosmetic flaws, so i've taken pictures of them, and will list them below. I don't want someone feeling cheated, so I want the potential buyer to know exactly what they're getting.

-Small scuff on top right of the screen. Not noticeable when turned on
-light scuffs on front and on rear of the console near left side of the cart slot. The camera makes them look brighter than they really are, not noticeable unless you tilt it under bright lighting, which i did on purpose.
-one of the battery tabs is a little bent, but it's fully functional, and I tried my best to get it as straight as possible.
-two stuck pixels, one green and one red. Hopefully you can see them in the picture. From what I understand, most units have these. Luckily these aren't terribly noticeable.

Here's some pictures for you:

If you'd like to see video of the audio working, I'll gladly post one on my IG (@pvgluke) for your viewing and hearing pleasure.

So, I'd like to get $200 for the system, but I'm open to offers. I will throw in a TurboVision adapter if I can find the thing too if you want one. I would OPTIMALLY like to do a straight trade for a Persona Q 3dsXL system for my wife. I can't seem to find them around here sadly, and shes a huge persona fan. Any proceeds from this will be going towards one. So if you have one, or have access to one, and totally want a Turbo Express instead, I'll be your buddy, guy.

Shipping with USPS Priority. If feedback or references needed on here, I can provide them, since I mainly lurk. Thanks for looking! Feel free to ask any questions about this system, and I'll do my best to answer them!  :D

@780racer - Thought it was a Dec 15 post. Suggestion - lighten up, you'll live longer.

@Black Tiger - More like $300, but what's your point? Are you telling me that you don't look out for good deals?

Hey man,

You gotta understand. This happens a lot by a lot of people who could give two shits about us or the community as a whole. Cool, you made a mistake, But it was a mistake.

Glad you joined. Maybe make a welcome post, before immediately going to the FS section, and trying to get deals on our fine wares. Makes you look less like a dirty reseller, who wants to get a good deal and flip it.

Pro tip (We are pretty tight knit, and well, people who create an account and immediately go to FS generally are here just to leech off the good deals. Because that happens. A lot.)

Welcome,

~Ryan

It was a joke, because you are bumping a 2 year old post. Part of the humor is that the forum is now bombarded by people who only sign up to scoop up "good deals" and immediately post in sales/raffles/etc threads, instead of introducing themselves or talking about games.

These threads are always funny.

Never understand why new people don't take constructive criticism and get all butt hurt right away.  I guess I have always been of the mentality that if I am in a new place you learn the way things work.  Not saying you have to be a mindless drone but just simple respect for a community.

The internet has been around for 30 years at this point, 20 of it for which we can get onto sites like this and talk to other like minded people. You would think (there's the punch line) that most everyone has, at one point or another, gotten involved with an online forum and seen these type of happenings.

But who am I kidding? Donald Trump might be the next president, and I never expected that.
