Great review and I agree completely.  For 1987 it is quite impressive for a home console.

I won't say it's an awesome game, but they don't know how to play it.  They're trying to play it as if it's something like Splatterhouse, but it's really more about rhythm and memorization.

What's unfair about not being a retard while playing a simple game?   

OH GOD I DON'T HAVE TIME TO REACT MAYBE I SHOULD BACK UP AND STOP TRYING TO GO FASTER THAN THE AUTO SCROLLING ALLOWS FOR.

They also only mention the big-fist, which means they suck at the game, completely.

Anyone who dislikes China Warrior sucks at it, not because it's unfair, but because they're slow.

I agree with necro. you gotta play the game over and over to memorize the pattern of the enemies and hazards coming towards you. the boss fights can be a pain and they should have changed the music on the different levels but its a cool game overall.

Obviously, I respect China Warrior. It saddens me that allegedly "hardcawww" video game enthusiasts do not understand the essence of China Warrior.

That's something you learn with practice.  Only faqqots need help figuring out how to play such a simple game, and this review makes it sound like the guy used save states to brute force his way to the end, rather than taking the time to learn enemy patterns or to formulate attack strategies against bosses.

I never figured out the conditions that triggered GIANT FIST, FISTS OF FURY (exactly what it sounds like)...because it appeared to happen at random times for me (and not too often).

Old Rover figured it out and told me a long time ago, but, in typical fashion, I have forgotten again.

But, it doesn't matter, because I can beat the game by simply mega-maxing the life bar (at first the bars change colors to indicate the extra life you have stored, but you can keep building up many, many full bars of life before you reach the upper-limit).
