Replace side sticker on a TG16 HuCard Game
« on: July 07, 2006, 10:46:49 AM »
I just received some items from ebay and the sticker on the side of the case that say the game title and has a color for genre is ripped off. I was wondering if anyone knew a way to print a new one and stick it on there. Suffice to say I was really pissed to see this was intentionally left out of the auction description and pictures. Heres the auction and seller for future reference

It sucks that they didn't mention the ruined case(s). But if you didn't already own those titles loose, that was still a great deal.

Yeah I didnt leave negative. I left him neutral. He shipped on time and sent the right items. But he left out the damaged case, the yellow smoke ridden hu card sleeve, and the fact he charged me $8 to ship something for $4. Oh and the bookelts are not in that great of condition either.

I make my own labels...

What I do is get two kinds of paper for my printer.  Color gloss photo paper and Label paper (one big sticker)

I printe the label on the color gloss paper and use a glue stick to affix it to the label paper, then I cut it out.   Works great.  Label stays and is nice and thick.

Remember to let the gloss paper dry first.

Awesome, do you happen to have the template you use for the size and design of the picture?

Sweet looking pixeljunkie, what did you use for paper? Could you send me the photoshop file also? Thanks to you and MotherGunner!

I'll see if I have the PSD on my server. If I don't, I can email it to you tonight. I use thicker Glossy photo paper. And 3M spray adhesive. Works great!

That is awesome, I just picked up a copy of air zonk complete recently - But i do keep the Hucard loose in sleeve and the box separate.  I have thought about this before for games like Air Zonk, New Adventure Island and Neutopia 2.  The motivation never struck me yet, but this will speed things along.  Thanks for providing the template!!

I've had to do this twice now, once for Jackie Chan and the other for Galaga '90.  It sucks because I don't have the exact Turbo font and I end up stealing letters from other Turbo spines, and I search around franticly to make sure I use the right color.  It's quite the Photoshop job for such a generic-looking spine, but it's gotta be right!  I scan other spines in at 400dpi and print out at the same resolution on photo-quality sticker/label paper.
