I think I got a good deal on this one.
« on: July 10, 2006, 02:32:05 AM »
I've been watching many TG16/PCE Auctions on eBay.  (For both systems and games)  And I think this is one of the best deals I could get.  My bid was the only one.  but eh, figured i'd share my good fortune.  :D

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=007&item=170003968025

I can pretty much gaurantee the reason it didnt go up is because the title was labeled "turbografx16" (one word)  and only crazy desperate gamers like me would try all combinations of the system title

I looked at that one. I was going to bid, but I already owned too many of the games to make it worth while. Congrats on your win though, its a good deal if you dont have the games.

That is a good deal. I want a Turbo Grafx too, I'm not happy with my Duo-R alone. I love the TG's design. :)

Wow- That's a good buy. If you bought the console and the games seperate you'd pay about twice that.

$45 total and you got:

Bonk's Adventure
Bonk's Revenge
New Adventure Island

... all excellent games that are a perfect intro to TG-16 HuCards.

I noticed you are missing the manual for Bonk's Revenge... tzd.com might still have a manual for $3.00 if you are interested.

Of course, you don't really need the manual.

Enjoy the goodness :)

Not a bad deal to start up your collectio.  It is a good secondary TG-16 if you have one already.  You could use this one as your travel system so that you will not worry about system damage on flights or trips.  But I like to find ones in boxes and instrctuions.  I am a little anal about that.  Is that an A/v booster in the back or just the regular port cover?  You should get the A/v booster for better picture and sound.  Enjoy.  I am looking for a Turbo Duo, though.
Let the old mix with the new.

yea tzd was on my mind for the manual..   Seeing as I want these not only for good play value, but also nostalgic collection purposes, the manual will be  a must.

I plan on buying alot of fun Tg16/PCE items, so i will keep you all updated on whatever good stuff i get!   :D

It is my first one (again, even tho i have owned 3 at one time in the past   )    And I plan on getting a couple more, and with the TurboCD attachment.    I have alot of fond memories of the Addam's Family CD game.   /shrug

Ha! I'm saving Addams Family for a rainy day. I finally bought that game at the end of last year. I've never played it.

Its ok... Its fun.  I have alot of really good memories playing it, thats probably why i like it so much.

The plot is kind of quirky, becuase you actually play the role of Tully (the lawyer from the film) and the whole point is you are trying to steal the Addam's fortune.   Fun and simple gameplay, but its not the character you'd expect to take control of. =P

Exactly.  I'd expect to take the control of Gomez.  In the other versions on different systems, do you play Gomez, or the lawyer.  It is interesting that you play from a different perspective and not gomez.  Please don't spoil the plot.  You play as the confused bad guy.

Great deal and if you are new to the Turbo, you're gonna love the package you receive in the mail :) .

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

When you really get going on the games, especially japanese ones, LMK, I can consult you on how much you should be paying(if you want, I want to help, since I'm all done with my collection, aside from Sylphia, which I used to have, & maybe a couple others here & there, but, nothing rare, cuz I have them.....except Renny Blasters, which is terrible).

Addams Family, has it's moments, it's one of those crappy games, that you can still be fun, despite the fact that they could've put alot more effort into it.  Like Impossamole, which is a game I'd like to comletely remake & add in the missing Klondike level from the Amiga version(though, I think the Turbo version did have a level or 2, not in the Amiga version).

I guess you could say im new to the turbo AGAIN.   I played TG way back in the day with my geek friends. and then just a few years ago i had a nice TG collection of 3 systems, 1 cd system, lots of games.. it was good times, but then i sold them because i was a poor (STUPID) man.  But now that I have more money, i can get it rolling again, (and keep it this time).

aside from the turbo stuff, im also rounding in some random PCE games too.
