WTB SuperGrafx 1941
« on: February 18, 2015, 04:31:01 AM »
It's the last one that I need to complete my SuperGrafx collection (although I do need to get another Daimakaimura box to replace the one that a "friend" lost!).

Yes, I should have bought it way-back-when, but it seemed overpriced ... and little did I know how much worse it was going to get!

Here's hoping against hope that someone here can save me from the eBay gougers and put me on the track of a semi-decently-priced copy.

Back-in-the-day, way before retro-gaming and when everyone was getting rid of 4th-gen machines to jump on the new "3D" 5th-gen machines ... I felt that $150 was way overpriced for a single game.

Now I'm looking back and slapping myself around the head, and thinking that it'll be hard to find one for under $250. Let alone the crazy gouger on jauce that wants 80,000Y!

I'd buy one for $150 right now ... and I still consider that to be a crazy amount for a single game.

More than that is possible ... but I'd really need to be in a state of alcohol-fueled lack-of-judgement before I seriously considered it.

I saw that one ... the box is a bit ratty. There's another one for £15 more that is in much better shape.

But still ... that's $240 for one game ... ouch!!!

you could probably find an incomplete one for $150 missing the outer slip cover

I'd certainly consider that ... the box would be nice to have, but I'm not enough of a pure collector to pay $100 for a piece of cardboard.

Get on Yahoo Japan Auctions... I got mine for about $150 last year and it was complete and pretty minty.

They are about at that price if you are patient and happy to wait...

I've been looking there, but the prices on "hot" items seems to be almost as bad as the US prices right now. I'll keep on looking, but it may just be a bad year to buy one.
