WTB: TurboExpress Headphone Jack
« on: May 14, 2015, 10:32:07 AM »
Please PM me if you have a spare TE headphone jack for sale.

I'm in the US and would be extremely grateful to have one to replace my flaky jack.

That should be an off the shelf part I would think.  They might have them at mouser or digikey.

looks like retro game cave used to sell them.  not sure how friendly they are, but maybe they could give you a part number.

Thanks for the lead :D I just emailed them. In the mean-time, if anyone has one for sale or knows of a standard replacement jack, please PM me or post here.

I wonder if this one would work?

I got the jacks in and realized that they have 6 pins in the back row as opposed to the 3 that the original had. Here is a link to the exact part if anyone stumbles across this thread and is looking for the part.

If that link does, the search for a 3.5mm 8-pin (the important part) headphone jack, and should cost about $4.50 for 15 pieces. The replacement is really high quality and much sturdier than the flimsy original, but I had to sand a tiny bit out of the case to make it fit. I used a Dremel and then cleaned it with a rounded file.
