Hi all, I'm Chris in the U.K. Just joined the forum after overpaying horribly for a PC Engine with IFU-30. I guess I got carried away with bidding as I have been chasing a decent PCE setup for a while. The seller has stated that it has been overhauled with new capacitors and middle gear/cog.
This is my very first experience of the PCE having always stuck to SNES and MD stuff. I have been checking out people's recommendations for games to purchase but was shocked at how expensive some of the "must-have" games are! I ended up bagging Rabio Lepus, Twinbee and Macross 2036 for a reasonable price.
Are there any other decent, fairly common (and therefore fairly cheap!) games I should be adding to my collection?
Thanks in advance,
Chris

Welcome aboard!

I always recommend Gotzendiener, but you might be better off with shewties maybe?  You can't go wrong with Winds of Thunder, Gate of Thunder, or anything from the blade series.

Also, before Necromancer shows up...

Heh, you beat me to it.  I was gonna suggest he get Chip Chan Kick and Zeroigar.

Thread moved.

Thanks folks. I realised the second after I hit the "submit" button that I had posted in the wrong forum - oops! At least it got me checking out the PC-FX and figuring out how I can justify adding one to the collection!
Cheers for the replies, I'll look around and see about finding some top tens and the like.

Hi Grandiloquence,

Welcome. I haven't been here very long myself yet, but I can share a few things I've already learned.

One. There are plenty of cool people here who will help feed your turbo addiction.
Two. Turrican't do much of anything. :)

Snag a copy of Blue Blink. It's inexpensive right now and it's super fun.

Funny you should mention Blue Blink, I was watching a play through on YouTube the other day. Think I'll add it to the list.

Welcome to Pcenginefx!

I second Blue Blink and Gotzendiener.  Also, Future Boy Conan is both good and cheap.  Depending on your gaming preferences, I'm sure that there are many good games for you to discover.

Welcome comrade. Also UK here. You should obtain all the Ys games inmidiately. They're not too hard to play through in Japanese and there is an English fan patch for Ys 4. You should be able to get all 3 discs for under £20 so it's a no brainer.

Thanks for the tips, Gotzendiener is another game that piqued my interest. I have kind of ignoring anything vaguely RPG-esque due to the language barrier but if there's a patch...
I'm just (impatiently!!) waiting for my goodies to arrive. PC Engine has allegedly been delayed by a postal strike in Germany so my planned weekend of fun has taken a knock. the only thing to arrive so far is Twinbee. I guess the anticipation is part of the game though and it will give me more time to research more games before it arrives.
