Turbo Everdrive V2 with V1 3D Printed Shells
« on: June 15, 2015, 03:18:16 PM »
I have good news and bad news. The good news is that V1 Turbo Everdrive 3D-printed shells can be made to fit the V2 Turbo-Everdrives. Unfortunately it requires some filing or dremeling a few parts away, at least with the DogP design.

Could someone with CAD skills update the STL design to accommodate these changes? Circled in red are the offending pieces that must be removed.

Left: Modified for V2 | Right: Original
(The pegs broke off all of my 3D shells, but this is not due to the T-ED's PCB)

Also, the reset button is much too rigid to function using the printing service that I used. The design that Sculpteo printed for me before functions perfectly though, and looks a lot smoother.

thanks for testing these.  I went ahead and ordered one from Sculpteo for my V2.  I don't mind shaving some off to make it fit.  BuffaloWing said hes redesigning his for the V2 but wont be ready for about a month:

What service did you use for that? Looked like they did a fast and sloppy print with all those grooves.

Still using Sculpto shell on my 1.0

It actually looks pretty cool in person. I just wish the pins didn't snap off--it has an evil prototype kind of look to it. I have a Sculpteo order placed too. It looks like they have a new economy option that knocks $1.84 off the price (you can select economy in your basket) for those who aren't in a hurry.

I got mine in from Sculptio and it doesnt fit very well.  Had to remove more stuff to get it on there.  The LED is now in a different location and also the small IC below it was causing an issue too.  I did not do a great job so it looks a bit crappy now, but it works.  probably best to wait and get a proper designed one.  I will probably get a different one later.

here are the boards side by side to show why it wasn't fitting:

the components near the switch (above and to the right) also made that other piece get in the way

I used a Dremel and razors to remove the parts shown in the first post and now my Sculpteo shells snap on and off just like with a V1. The reset LED hole is off, but the entire shell lights up when the LED blinks anyways.

you must have done a better job than me. :)  mine fit terribly but it was probably cause of my dremeling if yours fit correctly.

Sexy news.  Will be fetching one soon to have once the TED2.3 becomes available.
