I think there are something like 110 boxed games total; 84 of them being hucards and the remainder being CD games.
So this is this only Turbo CD games that have paper boxes? I never seen Japanese CDs with an outer box.

There are a few PCE games that came in boxes, like Pachiokun and Forgotten Worlds; they were bundled with controllers, hence the box.

3x3 Eyes also came in a cardboard box.

There's a Chinese war sim or something that I've seen boxed. It might have been packed with a Memory Base 128 or equivalent or something.

I think you're talking about Nobunaga No Yabou - Bushou Fuu Unroku and the Koei Save Kun.

Off the top of my head some other PC Engine games that have a box are
Akiyama Jin
Sangokushi Eiketsu Tenka Ni Nozomu
Idol Hanafuda FanClub
Mahjong Gakuen (with VHS tape in box)

and Circus Lido has a kind of slip cover

Interesting.

BTW do anyone know why some CD games come in double CD jewel cases despite only using one disk, leaving the second disk compartment empty. First time I saw it on a used game I bought, I thought one disk was missing and I almost asked for a refund.

I guess they are using standard 2 disk jewel cases to make room for a thicker manual or something?

The double jewel cases usually had more than just the manual inside.

Vasteel for instance has a rather large map or poster with the Solar system from that game on it describing the planets.

John Madden has a offense and defense double sided fold out.

It's for thicker manuals and extra docs. Monster Maker only has a manual which is too thick for a standard jewel case, so it has a special extra thick one. It would have been better if they had just used a double disc case.

The original Tengai Makyou Ziria has an iridescent sticker sheet for the back tray insert. So the second disc tray slot is taken up by a sheet of foam.

So they hide the extra disc tray in that game. On pictures it almost looks like it comes with an extra CD.

I use the extra disc trays for my burned CDs. Only problem is to remember which jewel case holds what CD.

There are a handful of games (like Lummy and Yuna) that came with a second disc, but it's just a music cd or HuVideo disc.

One easy thing to remember is that there aren't any 2-disc PC Engine games.

I mean remembering where I put my burned discs. Did I put my burned Dracula X in the Tengai Makyou case or the Lodoss case?

Pce needs love too :( any successfull tips ?

Get better friends, wives, and kids.

Hahaha!  This holds a personal truth to my current life.  My kids and friends love video games and like the TG.  My wife hates video games.  It seems I may be shopping for a new wife soon anyways.
