Yeah, I've been playing some Universal Soldier on the Genesis.  People not in the know dismiss it as a movie tie-in without playing it, but it's actually Turrican II with a few replaced sprites.

Ah, yeah, I saw that on I think HG101. I thought the damage was more than just a few sprites missing. It's essentially the same game, though?
