It's a decent game. But this post probably should have gone to the PC Engine forum rather than TurboGrafx.

Maybe a robot who loves Microsoft and Warren Buffet can move the thread for you.

I think NES DDII is the better game. BIAS: it is one of my fave games on the NES. However, if you are pussy, stay away from NES DDII because it is quite challenging in parts (there is a segment with retractable bricks (essentially disappearing platforms) that requires very precise timing, for example.

That said, the PCE DDII is totally worthwhile for any fan of Double Dragon series. If you like Double Dragon at all, the PCE version is fun.

It is not an amazing game like Dracula X, of course...so keep your expectations realistic.

I waited some time before I bought it, but I didn't regret it of course, the current $$$ might be high (IDK).

HERE (an ancient post where I defended the Red Book and argued that the soundtrack alone justified purchase of PCE game):

disappearing platforms in any game causes stress related controller smashings.

You'll never go wrong with runin's reviews.

Basically, if you like NES DDII you'll like the PCE one and vice versa.  It improves on the NES version in pretty much every way, but it doesn't stray far from the original.

Also, more asscheek on the front cover.

I've wanted to try this in more depth. Chany bought it at Octurbofest last year but I only got to try it briefly. Played well from what I remember.

And Necro: Sadly that's been the last Bros duomazov review in awhile. It's my go-to site for pce reviews and sometimes becomes the deciding factor for me buying a game (not always though).

Heh, that too.

Which cover ass is better - DDII or Cobra?

Yarr, it's been too long.  Where's the Hatris review, dang it?!?

DDII wins, Cobra is trying too hard.

I'll want to get this one too, sometime in the future.
Always thought it would be kinda moot having both the NES and the PCE copy but once I found out how different both games are, how different they feel, it was clear to me I needed both. :)

"Doburu... Dorago!!!" 2 is one of the games that made me a PCE fan for life. While I agree with the Duomazov review that the game is average at best, I feel that the game has a certain unique charm to it. It's as fun as the nes version even if the cutscenes are cheese fests, music varies from weird to awesome and the graphics could be better drawn.

pc engine duo DD2 was a much faster and improved significantly on the nes, nes only had 2 enemies on screen due to technical limitations, pc engine duo had more, combined the fact that pc engine duo version was much faster, thus, the pacing and action seems more frantic

in fact, even if you compare to the super dd, the pc engine duo seems more exciting and better variety, but the snes /sfc was visually and technically better ( I recall up to 4 enemies on screen), on the distant cousin, combatribes on snes/sfc kills pc engine duo dd2

while the Gameboy advance, which is from a different era is one of the best versions, unless you consider the improved android arcade port of dd2 ( which I love using dual shock 3 ps3 joypad on my xperia z2 and z tablet) which was released a few years ago
