Sorry, I don't have a shot of my Ys collection without the flipping of the bird part... So that's part of my Ys collection right there.
pure art !
love, power and hate all at once !
Hahahaha!
Well, to expand on that though, there's history that goes along with that photo...
Newly hired Thomas Lipschultz at XSEED Games showed it to his boss, Ken Berry (
who came from SquareSoft USA BTW, you can find him credited on Final Fantasy 9 and many other titles), back in April 2010 when he pitched the idea to take the fan translated results of Felghana. So he made a "presentation" about my fan team, that is, Jeff Nussbaum (AKA DeuceBag) and me...
I was presented as a demon - he told them everything negative that he could, how I reacted when the Felghana patch was leaked in 2007, the public war and feuding that HE caused with me with the Ys Origin fan project in 2008, and yeah, he topped it off by sending his coworkers to my site to see that photo which was at the top of the news feed at the time in 2010 when this situation occurred...
Conversely, Jeff Nussbaum who had become his friend at this time, unknown to me, and they had already conspired on a lame double-cross, was not presented in any negative way... Most likely just a poor decent fellow that had to begrudgingly "tolerate" some "evil right-winger with a website" for years who was also an Ys fan...
At the same time, while I showed a photo of my middle finger, ole Big Jeff DeuceBag wanted to finally prove to the NeoGeo community that he was in fact "well-endowed," the "king c-ck of the block," so he fluffed himself up, took a camera "down there," snapped one for posterity and uploaded it for linkage on the Neo-Geo forums...
Obviously, Thomas did not send (much less mention) his XSEED coworkers to the NeoGeo forums to point them to his c-ck-flashing activities... You see how that works in "reporting" - what you omit in a presentation is just as important in what you choose to include to produce the desired outcome in what you're trying to accomplish... Thomas is a highly intelligent propagandist, he knew what he was doing and succeeded 100%!
For comparison, I ask you, which photo linkage of body parts is more "embarrassing," ones to your middle finger or ones to your penis ??
So yes, that photo has some colorful history associated with it... Ken Berry and the rest did not take it in good fun the way when say GameSack Joe Redifer flips you the bird on some of his promotional photos or episodes, etc.
You know what I'm saying... Heh-heh.
Conclusion: Thomas embarrassed me to his company, he embarrassed me to 2 former SquareSoft US employees, a company I used to love with a passion, he further embarrassed me by extension to Falcom and the Ys series, etc. So you bet I absolutely hate him with a passion and want justice more than anything!
He used XSEED for revenge against someone that he was known to be publicly feuding with! And he got to delete his flame rallying troll posts on Ancient Land of Ys as part of a phony truce he later wanted with me, so essentially he got to "expunge" his record - there's nothing you could link to for "counter-embarrassment" and with ALL that, it's clear to me and should be to others that he NEVER should've pitched the idea if he was gonna try to do it divisively, get his company to do it divisively... In short, they should've hired professional translation firms like they normally would, or what they did with Ys VI, use a translator starting from scratch that had no prior work with him, nor came with software and script dumps on the back of a software developer who did the work hours for free under FAN circumstances, and not in a for-profit commercial entity situation!!! Period!
Lesson ? Well, beyond sometimes when you make the wrong enemy at the wrong time, it doesn't work out well for you, I'd also say that even in a fan or non-professional situation, you have to be a bit more wise. It's like when you go out with your friends on weekends, there's how you talk with them, how men can talk freely and not have everything off the cuff recorded and THEN there is how you talk with coworkers in the workplace... Unfortunately, I did not anticipate/predict a bit of the merging of the two situations if you get my meaning...
Do I recommend things like that in the future ?? Eh, not really, not really - because yeah, there can be unpredictable consequences... If you keep your website like esteban does @
http://archives.tg-16.com/ for example, there is nothing your enemies could use against you, etc. It's all professional, ALL the time! That doesn't mean the person doesn't have a temper necessarily, just means he keeps his cool as much as possible when it comes to his online persona and record, etc.
So, a little food for thought there for what it's worth...
