Congrats Bernie! I am tempted to search for "hair dryer" on the forum now...
And karma to Sparky for the super generous raffle man, I hope when you die you are surrounded by 99 Princess Za's to do your every bidding (if you're into that weird dinosaur stuff I guess)
If you notice, under my avatar, the little signature. I put that into place when I melted the Duo...
You know, if it makes you feel any better: when the Sega Saturn was new, my buddy got a white import Saturn, and he lorded it over us - having only our lowly black US Saturns. The Japanese Saturns were pretty sweet looking, I have to admit. Anyhow, I threw a mod chip in mine, easiest 2 wire mod in the world. My friend decided to do the same... but he wasn't exactly a wiz with electronics. He thought he needed to have the system powered on while doing the mod... and so he did, and fried his poor Saturn good. He was pretty upset about, ended up having to get a replacement US Saturn, the poor bastard.
Another one: With my Duo, I took pretty great care of it since the day I got it. Worship the damn thing, you know? One day, however, I stupidly move it by picking it up where the hucard slot cover is, and I push my thumb down into it, breaking off one of the hinges.. I was mortified. I tried to use some crazy glue to get it back in place, made a mess. There was glue and shit everywhere, and it looked awful. I think I used some goo-gone or similar to try to remove it and clean it up. This was before I realized how that stuff reacts to plastic, and I made even worse. Just carved right into it, melting the plastic. It looked so terrible all I could do was throw it away. Luckily, someone here hooked me up with a replacement to which I'm eternally grateful. And now, we have 3D printed ones, which I should grab a backup replacement of.
Anyway, glad you were able to replace the Duo you melted! Take good care of her!
