Brand new $50 or opened?  I can see maybe opened but not new.  C'mon really.

Hey Geise let me ask you a question.  Dollar value aside do you think it's a fair trade for a CIB 1941 in good shape?
No.

DS is a common game.  1941 for the SGX has fewer copies and is a more sought after title.  Hell you could almost get the cps1 pcb for less.

Please explain the formula which determines the value of a sealed game compared to a CIB game.

I think you are simply forgetting about the "collectard Variable."  So the formula is something like this:

(((g + c) * 2cv) + fe) * gr = Cost of sealed game.

Variables:
g =  Cost of reasonable condition game to reasonable person.
c = Added cost for above reasonable condition with everything that originally came with the game.
cv = Collectard Variable, or the supposed value of a game by someone who has to have em all and they all have to be collectible.
fe = Flippers expenses
gr = current rate of gauge

I like how the Collectard Variable is always doubled.

That poor Dragon Slayer disc...suffocating inside that cellophane, yearning for human touch and to be played like any good Falcom game.  Please, someone trade a 1941 and set this child free.

I have always loved DS.  The intro is great!  I love the music and even the cheesy US voice acting.  The battle system ins't bad but not the greatest either.  It's just a game that I personally found some charm in.  I would always go to the pirate hideout and play othello...for hours.  To bad this guy has been part of the problem jacking up the price on this common game.  This game should be $50

Brand new $50 or opened?  I can see maybe opened but not new.  C'mon really.

There isn't an exact formula but if you're gonna tell me new and sealed games don't go for more than opened CIB games than I would say your crazy.  Just do a simple eBay sold search on almost any game out there to get the evidence.  I have seen CIB Dragon Slayers go for $200 in the past but recently they seem to be going between $75 - $150 (has to have the map).  So to me a NIB copy should be around $200-$300.

If anybody thinks "sealed" carries a premium, they are as pathetic as the people paying a premium for "sealed". Actually, asking a premium for sealed is probably worse, because they are just praying on the moronic tendacies of sealed collectards. Its sad. To me, sealed is worth less because you cant do anything with it, and you have to waste time opening. Time is valuable. Aint got time for that. f*ck that noise.

This is your opinion and I am fine with it however the data is out there that says in the open market NIB games sell for higher prices than CIB games.  I actually agree with you to some extent that I would rather have a CIB game I can play than a new game that just sits there and collects dust.  That's exactly why I want to trade for a game I will play (1941).  With that said I'm not just gonna give the DS away either.

Now, on the one hand, I don't buy games from gamestop that have been opened.  In my opinion, they are not "new" and since that particular store charges more for new games than for used games I feel like it's at the very least disingenuous.  Thus, from a brick and mortar store I'll buy a new game sealed or I won't buy a "new" game.  I won't pay more for "like new" compared to its used price regardless of whether or not it has already been played.

That being said, I would never under any circumstances pay for a sealed copy to put on my shelf.  I don't buy games that I don't intend to play.  When I buy a game, I play it.  The reason I don't buy 20 year old sealed games and open them is because of idiots who are under the impression that what they have Isn't just a game and is instead some stupid collectible meant for looking at and thus said idiots try to charge ridiculous premiums.

WTF is 1941 Counter Strike? You'd think if the OP wanted the game so bad he could at least name it correctly....

1941 COUNTER ATTACK.

Maybe he's thinking of a hack of Counter Striker set to World War II, and it's not on the Supergrafx, but rather is parroting the developers' claims that it has "new and enhanced super graphics."

(or Joint Strike...)
