What are you talking about? Most people on it were like in there 40's or 50's
Ian Michael Black, Hal Sparks, Sammy Hagar, Cuba Gooding Jr, Kim Fields, Richie Sambora and others
Looking at some peoples' ages and whatnot, it appears you are right. I must be confusing this show with I Love the 70s, which had many of the same people on it pretending they were actualized human beings when bell bottoms and hula hoops were a thing, when in fact they hadn't made it though kindergarten yet.
If you were born in 1971 your opinion of E.T. or Rainbow Bright may be valid, your opinion of Jimmy Carter's presidency however...not as much. Watching people make fun of the Ford Pinto when they'd never driven one, the 8 track cassette when they've never listened to one, political candidates they were young to vote for/against, etc. There was very little white hair on these shows, just like the rest of T.V. Not everyone in 1984 spent their days playing with GI Joes. I did, sure, but there was also Apartheid, the explosion of pornography on VHS, and Reaganimics. I didn't know anything about that shit.
I was born in 1973 and I remember all sorts of cool things from my childhood, but that's just it: child-hood. My opinions of politics, music, war, economics, sex scandles, Bloom County, AIDS, televangelists, etc weren't really worth a shit until at least 1990.
