Sealed Turbo Duo system, not for sale, but...
« on: August 18, 2006, 06:58:51 AM »
I was wondering how much you would pay for a sealed brand-new Turbo Duo system with the six games and magazine, and etc.?  I just want to appraise it.  I am not selling it.  I am just wondering.  Please post.  Thank you!

I saw a kid a few years ago post a link to an auction where he won one for about $880ish i'm not sure what they'd go for now i'd guess about that or a little lower.  I also have a sealed one up in my attic that i got a few years, my thought is it might be time to move it before the Virtual Console comes out if i choose to do so.

Don't sell it because after the onslaught of interest in the Duo dies down, it will be scarcer than ever.  Trust me.  I just got a second one sealed for $500.  I found one on eBay for $649 plus shipping, but it doesn't come bundled with games.  I got mines shrinkwrapped with the games inside.  I'm keeping a second one as a collection piece.  This is the first time I have a sealed system of a system I already use.  I might do it with a Wii because it's cheaper than the others.  $800 for a sealed Turbo Duo is a lot.  I didn't get my sealed ones on eBay.  I got it from a store.  I am not telling, which one because then people will buy it off and then sell it on eBay for an even crazier price.  I got a sealed one as a piece of video game history.

By the way, you shouldn't leave the Turbo Duo in the Attic because it get really hot in the summer.  I leave my system boxes and systems in my closet.

Ha, glad to see u wanna hang onto it to, what i meant by attic is top floor of my house in my old room, properly ventalated in a nice box, i want to hang onto mine to but sometimes the urge hits me when i know i am sitting on several hundred dollars and could use the money for more games.  I often wonder how many sealed ones w/ the games are out there glad to see someone else still has one to.

I am actually a newcomer to the Turbo scene.  Actually I knew about the games, but when my father asked me if I wanted one, I told him that he didn't need to spend money on it because I had other systems.  My first and second Turbo Duo system I have are new.  I mean the first one is now opened and used, but the second one I left sealed.  If I got it back then as a kid, it would have been not in the same condition.  I kind of lost my Super nes collection to my half brother.  I had 60 odd games.  We live seperately.  I just wanted to know how much someone would pay for it.  I actually left both of the Turbo DUo boxes in it's shiping package.  The one I opened I replaced the shrinkwrap.  I could get $800 or so now even though I got it recently, I wouldn't discard it.

$800? WTF? I wouldn't pay that much for a US system...from NEC, or anyone else.

Even a new Duo RX would be really *really* pushing it for $800.

REALLY pushing it.

I actually like the black duos more than the redesign.  I was just wondering.  I wouldn't pay $800.  I am not selling mine.  But you never know how crazy people are.
