Which of the other fighting games use 6 buttons?  Do the SNK games (Art of Fighting, FF2, FF Special) make use of 4?  Flash Hiders, Advanced VG, Asuka 120%, Strip Fighter 2, Kabuki Itoryodan, Martial Champion, any others?

Just wondering how worth it it is to have 6 button controls outside of SF2.

I missed that!  Thanks, Necro.  I totally have to check out my Ys IV manual now to see how it implements 6 button controls!

Yeah, that's weird, my only controller is an Avenue 6 pad and I never noticed additional buttons doing anything for Ys IV.

What do you do when you want to play a 2-player game?

Buttons II and I always work as normal for everything.

EDIT: Err, I initially read you as asking about normal 2 button games. I don't have a turbo tap and the original Turbo Duo pad that came with my system I turned into a NEC Advantage joystick.

Don't feel too bad, N.W.  I've got a tap (three actually) and at least a dozen controllers, but no friends to play with.

I'm so ronery.  Oh so ronery.

Who needs 'em, I mentioned a while back I had a "friend" I let borrow my Turbo Duo system/games, and prior to that, all my stuff was in pristine, beautiful condition. Dracula X = Like New, Ys Book I & II, III, IV = Like New, GoT = Like New, Exile I & II = Like New, etc. After one month, I'm over at his house to see how he's enjoying it all, we played Dracula X together, but I look at my Turbo Duo, it now looks old. I look at the Ys Book I & II manual, water was spilled on it so it was crinkled up at parts, pretty much damn near everything was getting scratched up, dramatically aging, etc. So I took everything back right then and there. It was a debacle and I shouldn't have done it! I wanted him to get to appreciate a console few even knew about, which he did, but I didn't expect to see so little regard in caring for it for the month I let him borrow it...

similar story here.

let dude in highschool borrow it for like a week. He brought it back with no hu-cover and a huge scratch spanning 3/4 the top of the console (across both hu side and cd lid).

was not happy.

Aghh!  Both of your stories make me sad.  I also lent my Duo and games to a friend back in high school, luckily he took pretty good care of everything though.  My duo has a few light scratches on the surface though, not deep ones, just really faint scuffs which I imagine was sorta unavoidable if you took it all over the place like I used to.  I took my duo to friends houses, camping, took it to work a couple times when I was doing QA as well as my PCFX.

Do you require proof of age by way of a scan of one's drivers license or birth certificate prior to submitting an entry request?

Yup, probably creme brûlée, since there were some crispy bits.

Also—great song by Sonic Youth.

"Scrape, scrape, scraping up melted cheese..."

Yeah, and that's why it's nice the option to make 'em a CD-R/DVD-R or something came along years later. But to lend somebody an original along with having to remind them at some point to return it, F that shit!!
