Live Streams - Anyone watch? - A selifish plug at the end

WOndering if anyone here streams/watches the live streams on sites like twitch?

I've been working with streamers on the site trying to get them some more exposoure, as well as working with sponsers, ect. for them. 

If any of you guys do watch would you mind telling me, what brings you into a stream, what you like to watch and what you like to get out of it?

Also if you guys have the time please stop by and follow/watch one of my streamers.  she is pretty funny, and fun to chat with.

Not unless it's something very obscure or interesting.  For instance I once watched most of a livestream where the guy streamed all of the old compile disc station releases for pc-98.

I watch streams on occasion.  I find viewing fighting games similar to how a football enthusiast may view their game of choice.  Most weekends there's a reasonably large tournament somewhere and I'll at least try to catch the Street Fighter 4 finals.

I occasionally watch other genres; a friend is big into dota 2 so I occasionally watch big tournaments with him and I try to watch the games done quick speedrun things the two times a year they have them.  I don't really ever just look for a channel to watch to pass the time.  If it's not something I'm already interested in then I pretty much don't bother.

Neat, I have only found a few of those, I like to watch Dan play some TG-16, last time I saw he played a nice playthrough of Blazing lazers.  I'm working on getting someone involved who streams this sort of stuff, mostly becuase you know I like it, and I'm selfish.

I don't watch anyone/thing with any regularity. On occasion I'l hop over to Twitch to see if there's anyone streaming something interesting vintage-gaming-wise. Or if I see someone on FB is streaming I might hop over and say "Hi". But it's not very often.

I have an account on Twitch and the gear to stream from my old consoles, so every once in awhile I'll set it up and let folks on FB know I'm going to stream, but that doesn't happen with any regularity either.

I have streamed Gate Of Thunder a couple times. I usually do it at the end of a stream to show off the Music and that there are good games on old consoles like the TG16 hardware.

I havn't streamed in a week or so as I am working a lot of overtime lately. I watch random people mostly depending if the game has any interest to me. Once the person moves off that game I usually stop watching unless they play another game I am interested in. That may not always be true though as I will usually watch a streamer for like a week then just move on.

I treat it like TV and just channel hop mostly. If I stream I just stream what interests me, why should I care what anyone else wants? If they watch they watch, if not... oh well...

I don't really stream myself but am more apt to occasionally appear on other people's streams.  Next time I go to an event I can post or send you a PM but whether I get on stream or not is pretty random.  I was on Alex Valle's stream I think 5 times over the course of an afternoon for an online Street Fighter 4 tournament this past Saturday.  Before that I was on a stream playing one set and also on camera sitting behind another player telling him to stay calm as he was playing another guy during an exhibition at our largest tournament in Dallas about a month ago.

I don't really get "following" a stream.  Like, does it help you if I follow you in any way?  I personally don't care to receive additional junk email stating that someone's online...

Well twitch is kinda screwed up.  They will only allow you to "charge" for people to be able to SUB to your channel (through twitch mind you, they get the money) and get upgraded content ect. if you have followers and consistent audiences.  Like google they also will pay you some at this point.  We also use the numbers to entice sponsors to advertise with us. and yeah I'm desperately trying to keep and gain new sponsors for my streamers.   

FYI when you click the follow button, if you hover over it you can turn off notifications from any stream which = no emails.  I always do this.
