Few supergrafx Q's
« on: October 28, 2015, 05:30:24 AM »
I know there was not many games made for this system but I cannot seem to find a full list of what games where released specifically for it.

Also, What cd-rom attachment fits the SuperGrafx if it has one?

If it does have an attachment do you need an Arcade card Duo or Pro to play Arcade games on it?

RGB and region mods work on this console the same as any other of the Duo's or Turbo machines?

The super CD 2 attachment works with it.  You can play all CD games without any cards except Arcade games.  You would need the Arcade card to play the roughly 10 arcade games made.  Most of the best CD games don't use the Arcade card anyway.

As for actual SuperGrafx games, there are only 5.

Battle Ace
Granzort
1941
Aldynes
Daimakaimura

There are also 2 HuCard+ (bi-compatible) games.
Darius Plus
Darius Alpha
(When played on a SuperGrafx, they use the extra background layer to decrease sprite flicker)

Sweet looking sub collection.  Always wanted 1941 Counter Attack.

Ok that has to be one of the fuggliest looking consoles + cd-rom I have seen.

Does it need the Arcade card Duo or Pro?

I just got my Arcade card Duo in the mail today so I am stoked to try it out with some ripped games before or if I even go after some originals.

I wonder if the mobo of the Supergrafx will fit in a PC Engine Duo case with some modding. lol I love the original Duo's looks.

I would suggest that a sgx with scd needs arcade card duo whilst connecting it to a briefcase would require the arcade card pro.

Totally forgot that it can be hooked up to briefcase CD.  That must be a funky looking set up.

Just think of it as a "conversation starter".

Arcade Card Duo if you're using a SuperCDROM, Arcade Card Pro if you're using an RAU-30 to connect it up to an IFU (briefcase).

Apart from the terrible crime of destroying a Duo ... you do realize that the CD wouldn't work, don't you?   :-s

It was kind of a joke I know it wouldn't fit in a Duo case. But it sure would be interesting to find a plastic mold company that does specialty items for people and make a custom case for the SuperGrafX + cd-rom and lay them out in a clean fashion.

I don't have those resources but I can dream can't I? :)

I don't know what your talking about but I think the SuperGrafx SCD-2 attachment looks sweet.

So sorry about the double post.  It was not intentional.  I don't know what happened?

It was unintentional.

Admit it you guys love to break my balls.

Isn't it fun?

I finally unloaded that sealed Dragon Slayer for $185 on NA.  Anyone have a CIB (with the map) copy for sale?
