t to the bone, brutha!

What up NightWolve?  I read your facebook link.  That's some messed up shit that happened to you.  I do own some XSEED games but I will now think twice before I buy another one.

I finally unloaded that sealed Dragon Slayer for $185 on NA.  Anyone have a CIB (with the map) copy for sale?

Ah, so you finally got the big score you were looking for with that copy, huh ?

Yeah, just download their shit if you need an Ys fix, they don't deserve your money. Take the same position that Thomas Lipschultz had before he was hired by the company and was sharing Falcom ISOs to his friends to spread Ys love. ;) If pirating was good for him before being an XSEED Games employee, then it's STILL good for anyone and everyone else! Heh.

They actually did technically violate my automatic IP Rights on unique software as I would've been a fool to verbally or in writing consent to commercial use to Jeff Nussbaum (the other fan translator I mainly worked with and co-conspirator) - the simple fact is he just silently did what he wanted, all the stuff I ever gave him was on his computer, and they all got away with it to date! It's fine to hate me, have personal bigoted grudges, animus, etc. but that doesn't mean you get to cheat people because of it!

Somebody actually said to me something along the lines of, hey, what about respecting their work hours ?? Which was amazing in that person's ignorance! That's the whole point of staging a boycott, I spent thousands of work hours over several years and at great personal and irresponsible costs to myself, and they don't give the slightest jack shit about it! Lipschultz' position is basically "Too bad sucka, you were just a text delivery boy, you delivered text from point A to B. And as for your software, who cares, that's just like Microsoft Word, and we'd never have to pay let alone credit Microsoft for their shit getting used for commercial purposes!" I'm creatively paraphrasing what he said to me and to the public, but that's a damn accurate assessment of his positions!

But alas, copyright law is only as good as a lawyer to prosecute for you, so unless I try to do something, everything stands as is. And of course, I took the rogue approach for free in some things that I did as payback already, so that would work against me assuming I finally committed to trying!

This question comes up every once in a while, so does my response. The short answer is that it doesn't matter what CD-ROM shit works with the SGX since even people who have all that shit rarely hook it up because it's f*cking gigantic and there are no SGX CDROM2s.

If you are buying it for the five so-so SGX games, there you go. If you need to play the other 1000 or so PCE games (dozens of which are better than any SGX title), just get a Duo and use that. It won't take up your entire living room floor.

The SuperGrafx is a sexy beast of a machine. The PC-Engine is sexy too, just in a different way. Duo's... not a whole lot of sexual appeal, just slick looking.

This pretty well wraps it up. Throw a purple LED into a Duo-R(X) for a real eye popper.

Did they really only cover 4 of the 5 dedicated games?

I loaned the show the games and system but didn't own Battle Ace at the time. Still don't. :)

I have a spare loose one.

Not sure if it's worth raffling or whether its reputation is so bad that I should just pay you to take it (if you'd even be interested)!

Well, the Ghouls and Ghosts seems like a worthy game for the SuperGrafx. It would most likely be my #1 if I had an opportunity to get one.

The Atari Jaguar segment was interesting to me as well. As I had two Jaguars and one with the Cd-rom attachment. I also had the link cable.

The best games on the Jaguar imo are,

Doom + Link cable for two player multiplayer Doom - Best doom at the time on a console, before the Starun or PS1 came out. I never played Doom on the 32x so .... Not sure how they compared but since the Jaguar had two player with a link cable that was pretty amazing back in the day for me at least.
Cannon Fodder - Really fun
Rayman - amazing platformer
Also.... Club drive was a lot of fun playing tag with two people. It takes some getting used to but multiplayer was fun.
Attack of the Killer Mutant Penguins was also pretty good as you got to beat down penguins with a bat or frying pan.

I never got any good Jaguar CD games as I could never find Baldies, but I am sure that would have been the best one. I had Highlander and some other game with a 13 in it. There were a couple others too but none were all that good.

I sold all my Jaguar stuff like 50 some games and both consoles + link cable + cd-rom just so I could get an N64 when it came out. Doom 64 was supposed to have 8 player multiplayer with two tv's then it was reduced to 4 on one. Then when it finally came out... it was single player and I was pissed as I sold all my Jaguar stuff just for multiplayer Doom on the N64. I bought the N64 on release with all my Jaguar stuff with several games. And patiently waited for Doom 64 drooling at every news release. I was soooo angry when Doom 64 was finally released, but I still bought it because I needed it.

God dam N64 and it's empty promises.  I am still waiting for the arcade perfect "Ultra 64" port of Killer Instinct.

That was my Jag as well. I loved how they used stop motion animation to show the innards of both consoles.
