And alas... hopefully the last questions I need on this system.

Do the everdrives work with the SuperGrafx games?

If I own a Super Cd-rom 2 add-on do I use the A/V output on the SuperGrafx or the cd-rom add on unit?

Does the Super Cd-rom 2 add-on have an A/V output?

If playing a SuperGrafx game with the add-on attached does it matter what A/V ports are used?

I am mostly trying to figure out if I am RGB modding the SuperGrafx or the add-on or both.

Also, while looking around inside the system I noticed by the 7805 on the large metal heat sink there looks like another spot for a 7805 between the power switch and the fuse. Is there supposed to be a 7805 in that location or is it supposed to be empty?

For the cd addon with the sgx,  you use the addon's av out. Else you won't get stereo soundssss from cd audio tracks.

My SCD is modified for component, but the picture is light in sections and the image doesn't show if I pass it through a switch box. With that in mind, when it's hooked to a SuperGrafx, only the v1 TED works.

Something else you should know is that you will need both power supplies if running a SGX + SCD, but there is a custom pass through power cable you can buy online, so that you only need the SCD plugged in.

The Saturn version is just another "good enough" port and is not perfect.

it's looks to be closer to the arcade version than the pce port atleast

Well, my SuperGrafx was a bare unit, no accessories.

So I grabbed a 12v 1500mA Enermax power supply for it as that is what the Super CD-Rom attachment voltage requires. Hopefully the extra 500mA over the stock power supply will help a little.

I replaced the controller port as it was pretty worn out. I then removed the  5 port din A/V socket and decapped it.

So basically I am going to RGB mod the Super CD-Rom addon and then region mod the SuperGrafx. Region mod only if I want to play with actual HuCards, if not then I can just use the TED 2.4 and don't worry about the region mod.

Playing Supergrafx games will go out through the A/V port on the Super CD-Rom unit? There is a Hu6260 in the cd-rom add on?

No, analogue RGB/Composite go out the SGX/PCE expansion port and just get passed along.

Ahh I see. Well lol this brings up another question then.

Cd games will be mono if using the A/V on the SG. Using RGB on the CD add on forces composite sync?

So, I could make a cable that uses the video C-sync from the SG and the audio from the add-on to get the best of both worlds?

Or am I just making this more complex than what it needs to be? :)

I just don't have the add-on yet, it is bought just not here. So I am trying to figure things out to see what I need or what I need to plan to do when it does get here.

You should be able to get RGB out from the SuperGrafx and just use the regular SCD cable for audio. This is what I do with my RGB modded white PCE and IFU. I also hook the IFU composite to my TV to play while capturing video, since the capture device display is delayed.

I use a Framemeister XRGB-mini to a BenQ RL2460HT monitor. The monitor has a passthrough HDMI port and that goes to my capture card in my computer.

It's great for personal gaming setups but if you want to share the screen with others then of course large TV's are best.

Ok, I appreciate everyones info and advice as I put this thing together. It has been a help.
