PC Engine DUO proper power cable?

I am currently using the NEC model pad-125 power cable for my PC Engine Duo.  Is this the proper one?

When I google it I get an image of the NEC pad-130.  I believe the one I am using is for the PC Engine and not the PC Engine Duo.  It works so I guess who cares really.  I just don't want to damage anything inside the DUO.

It's actually for the super CDROM2 and it's 12v output.  Your duo needs a 10v output.  The Duo part is pad-124.  I'm done hand-holding on this post

As has been pointed out, you're currently using the power supply that's intended for the Super CD-ROM².

In terms of voltage and amperage,

I've always understood it that you need to match the voltage specs.  Both lower and higher could be bad.
Whereas with the amps it must be at least what the device wants but there is no harm in it being higher.  If Johnny wants to eat two apples, he's only going to eat two whether you put 2, 3, 5, or 20 apples on the table.

Well, in his defense.... the NEC did put out so many consoles of the same damn thing, that it can get a little confusing with power supplies.

Thanks for that chart.  Looks like I am using the wrong plug with a higher voltage after all.  I need to get the proper one.  I fear I may have damaged it already as the sound is starting to act funny.

PCE hardware normally says the model number of the power supply on the bottom of the system.

Well, in his defense.... the NEC did put out so many consoles of the same damn thing, that it can get a little confusing with power supplies.

You're right.  NEC was very inefficient with how they used a different power supply and plug size for almost every system.  However, I told him twice how to get to that chart.  If he can't Google search, he has problems that chart won't solve.

Most 8 & 16-bit consoles at least give you the specs. Sega and NEC hardware give you power supply model numbers.
