Best baseball games I've ever played are Baseball Stars like Steve mentioned and World Series Baseball '98 on Sega Saturn (I think it was 98, it was the one right before they wen't to polygon players, they still used sprites).  Man I used to have a blast playing home run derby over and over on that one.  The PCE baseball games all looked like crap so I never bothered with any of them.

TV Sports Baseball got cancelled, I don't know if there is an answer for that out there, but we have discussed this multiple times before. There were some screenshots for it and even a video of it if you check out the promo video that Joe posted here . Paranoia Dragon knows a lot more about this than I do, but I think I recall him or someone else saying that some store was going to have it in stock, but they never received any copies. There might be a proto copy out there somewhere, but we don't know of any. From the looks of the video, it looked a lot better than the other TV Sports games and was more like a classic style baseball game like Power League.
torgo (or maybe it was someone else) told us that the prototype for TV Sports Baseball had some rawness and needed to be finessed. If you read the reviews at the time, they mentioned some other quirks (like the batters coming from the dugout instead of the "on deck" circle, or something like that). Presumably, some of these things might have been corrected before the final release.

We do know this: at least some magazine reviewers played a prototype of the game that seemed pretty close to complete.

Such an evil view in life. :(

Ahh, thanks for telling me this. I probably read this before but forgot, so thinks for reminding me if that's the case.

Ahh, I didn't even think about the magazine reviews, like Turbo Play, which reviewed the game. That means there has to be a playable proto somewhere.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Yeah, some guy posted on here a few months ago offering like $2,000 for it and other proto-type games if anyone had them.

To summarize, the pce has:
Power League 1-5
Power League 93
World Class Stadium
World Class Stadium 91
Naxat Stadium

Pro Baseball 89 (Kore Ga Pro Yakyuu 89)  CD
Rom Rom Stadium  CD

Nekketsu Legend Baseball  (a SCD RPG, anyone know anything about this?)

Are there any others?
Which Power League game became World Class Baseball?

I think you got them all, except there might be one more for CD but I would have to research that more to confirm. That's probably all of them though.

By the way, I wasn't aware of this Nekketsu Legend Baseball game today since it's listed in this program I use but has no screenshots. I'm really interested by it now since you said SCD RPG and the cover looked a little neat. The only information I have on the game is that it was released on June 6th, 1995 on Super CD format, created by Pack-In-Video (oh no!), and it's serial number is PVCD5013 :P .

Dude...Pack-In-Video. That should be enough warning for you to run far, far away. :)

I'd like to re-open discussion on this thread. I am looking to find another baseball game on the PCE (I already own WCB for the TG16)... which is the best bet/ best bang for the buck?

As mentioned in a earlier '06 post, Power League '93 is a really good ball game. Power League 5 isn't bad either. Haven't played anything other than the Power Leagues' though, so I feel my opinion is a bit one sided. :-"

You may have the three that you see there, except for Power League, for like 5bucks or something? PM if you are interested.
