WTB bootleg sapphire
« on: November 23, 2015, 05:47:06 PM »
Hey guys,

After a few suggestions from members i am going to post on here in hopes of maybe getting the elusive sapphire bootleg.

I know the first thing everyone will say. Just burn it.

I get that but my US Duo since purchasing it in July has not been able to play burned games well. This unit before i bought it had all caps replaced, the laser replaced, and TheSteve adjusted the pots.

I have now sent it back to him on the past week as once again its not reading burned discs what so ever.

I really would love to add it to my active PCEngine games that i could play and enjoy.

Just for the speculators i have tried multiple ISOs on 700 mb discs and 650 mb discs. Differnt burners and different speeds... i tried to figure it out myself because the duo has not run right with burned discs since purchasing it.

I will promise to post daily attempts at beating the game, be active. Post my progress in the game..... whatever it takes.

Please let me know if you can help. I hope i explained myself well.

~Ryan

Good luck getting a copy of Sapphire.

It is crazy that certain systems are picky with burned discs.  I was starting to have issues with my PCE Duo but I recently changed the laser and all is back to normal.

I really.... Truly.... hate how picky my US model is... And my buddies DUO plays anything...... -_-

Anyways, Thanks for at least looking guys, and please please please let me know if anyone can help. I would forever be in your debt.

Is there any chance PCE Works will be making pressed discs at some point?

Solid Facts state that ATM they have no plans to press more of them, but somewhere in the ballpark of 400~ "Supposedly" are floating around somewhere.

I don't know why they wouldn't. These days though it won't be a %99.9 exactly perfect replica, hopefully, but I'm sure he'll be charging waaaaaaaay more than the $37 I paid.

If Tobias is talking about the possibility of more copies of Sapphire, then I expect to soon receive an email about a new collectible set including Sapphire, Mad Stalker and Strider, all with exciting new packaging, along side yet another 300 copies of that collectible coin of which only 100 copies will ever be made.

Within a couple weeks of release, the extra limited edition "Arcade Coinop Cabinet" set, consisting of the same games in a cheap plastic arcade cabinet-shaped plastic container with a pack of "Arcade" brand cigarettes and "Arcade" chewing gum will have several listings on eBay starting at $999.99 minimum bid.

Madou Monogatari would be the best candidate after Sapphire, but people have mentioned him saying that he only wants to cater to English speakers who can't handle "moon runes".

This is sort of OT, but why don't we just do our own group cd pressings?

It is much more difficult getting a pressed PCE CD created correctly than it is to burn a cdr that plays correctly.

So. The question of the day today...

Someone contacted me who says they have a extra sapphire. What is one of the bootlegs worth? We figured we would just post in here, and find out the cost/price of it.

Thanks,

For reference, Tobias offered these for €49 shipped world wide, and €10 shipped for the loose disk.

Also, literally hundreds have been given away for free. Anyone charging for one of those is a total shit munch.
