« on: November 26, 2015, 01:22:06 PM »
So, I just watched a video on Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu.

The game looks awesome , what are your thoughts?

Is this a hard to find game?

Tell me more about this  :D

It's a remake of the famous NES game.

It is very easy to find and is always available to buy. Therefore collectors consider it R@RE and charge a lot of money for it.

I am not a fan, but most people seem to like it.

Like it a lot.  It's a tough platformer.  I have it in regular rotation.  If you like games like new adventure island and legendary axe 2, you will like JC.

It does seem to be selling for a bit of a premium lately.  I would look for the PCE version.  Good luck!

If you're into platformers then it's a must have. Get it before the price gets out of hand.

One of the best action platformers on the system, period.

it is not bad. I like Vigilante more. I think it has to do with skinheads kidnapping Madonna though. That and I like the game.

Jackie Chan handles well at both platforming and fighting.  The cartoon-y graphic stylings suit the mood of the game ver well.  The soundtrack is pretty good as well.  As no game is for everyone, if you haven't played it then I'd suggest getting a ROM and trying it out before you buy it.  It came out late in the life of the system so it's not as common as, say, Legendary Axe or something that came out earlier.

I am sad to say, my copy is the one HuCard that I have that doesn't work.  I can't boot it up no matter how I wiggle it in either my TG16, my Duo, or my Express.
Current want list:  Bomberman 93

I think it's one of the greatest turbografx games!
So funny and difficult too!
If you find one, give it a try!

Definitely a fun game and an excellent remake. But something about it makes the game seem like a B- game. Can't put my finger on it.

Nice looking game but I found it more frustrating than fun.  Maybe because I'm not a big fan of platforming.

Naw, it's got big colorful sprites, control is pretty damn spot on, difficulty can be a bit much for some, but otherwise the game doesn't have many if any flaws to speak of...

"Should" is relative. If you want to play it anytime soon, but only as a physical Turbochip, then you'd have to pay $50 - $100. It never came with a case.

You could buy the PCE version complete (with an actual case even!) for less, but then you won't have the fugly cover art.

Or for the price of this game alone, you can play both versions on a Turbo Everdrive.

Unfortunately, I don't have a PCEngine, so Turbochip is the way to go for me.

Anyone have one with manual they are willing to part with for a decent price?
