WTB: Arcade Card Pro
« on: December 15, 2015, 07:49:40 AM »
Hey everyone,

I was wondering if someone happened to have an Arcade Card Pro they wouldn't mind parting with. The reason being, I have a briefcase setup so I actually do need this specific version of the card (Arcade Card Duo won't cut it). I've been putting this off for a while since I wasn't satisfied with eBay or Amazon reseller prices, but I figure I might as well ask to see if I get lucky and some kind member has one available here.

Cheers,

EDIT: I have the following titles for trade in case that more your thing!

- Wai Wai Mahjong
- Genpie Tomaden
- Jack Nicklaus Championship Golf
- Knight Rider Special

All games are CIB, but some have spine labels/stickers pealing up. Would require just a bit of crazy glue to keep them down. Also these don't come with the vinyl sleeves since they seem to cause more damage than help.

Wow price of that card has really gone up lately.  I got mine loose in a lot of system cards from japan for like $60 shipped.  Took forever but finally got here after a month.

$185?  That's highway robbery, even beating out ebay bins that sit for months unsold.

I know that it's an obscure site that most have never heard of, but you can buy a complete copy here right now for $120:

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=arcade+card+pro&_sop=15

But they regularly sell for $90:

Perhaps your search engine is set to bing?

*EDIT: forgot to point out, you'll see in that link of sold listings that brand NEW/Sealed/L@@K! copies go for $120 - $130.

Dang. I have both Pro and Duo and I don't think I payed $60 combined.

Prices are going crazy guys. I hope those who bought into this kind of shit when it was affordable are at least grateful they got in when they did (and not too pissed off that their collecting has probably come to a halt due to it just being unaffordable now.)

I am grateful I got in when I did, but a bit pissed off that my collecting has basically halted.

I'm going to korea next week and buying everything I can find. Things are still affordable there.

If collectards are making the PRO $80 - $100 more than the DUO card and your situation is one where you need a single functional setup as cheap as possible, then it's a no-brainer. Just get a Duo system or Super CD-ROM with the Duo card. Even if you already have CD-ROM combo, selling it and getting a Duo/SCD will be cheaper.

If you want to pay a premium for the luxury of having a CD combo that plays everything, so be it. Even though I have a fully modified and refurbished Duo, I'm still keeping my CD combo and PRO card just for the novelty. I'm still getting rid of other excess hardware, but I don't kid myself about my PRO/CD setup.

It's no different than getting upset that the Turbo version of an identical PC Engine game costs several times as much. Just buy the PCE version of Terraforming.

I hear you on this reminds me of final fight guy on the SNES.  Over $300 for the SNES version when the super famicom game goes for like $25.

Or just skip the AC completely. When you consider how few games you'll be able to a spread that $180 AC Pro investment over...it's not a great ratio.

SuperCDROM2 and HuCARD is where it's at guys. Get AC and SGX when you have 100 killer SCDs and Hus.

What if an ODE device becomes available that only connects via the ext bus? Then the AC would be essential?

Believe me, I do.  I remember when these things sold for 100 yen a pop.

Not really because you could always use the super system card that will play almost every CD game.
