Help! PCE Duo RGB mod
« on: December 17, 2015, 01:13:03 AM »
Hey,

Long story short I've been given a beautiful PCE Duo console to save from death and hopefully upgrade. Following some help from this forum I've performed a full cap replacement so I'm moving onto the next project stage - RGB mod. Which is where I've become stuck..

I'm using viletim's Universal RGB amp. Image can be found here:

I can just about figure out how to install that following the instructions, but it's doing the rest that's baffled me.

To install an 8pin DIN socket I've been directed to this guide:

http://www.otakus-store.net/en/content/6-guide-nec-rgb

My questions:

1. Is that the correct guide I should be following or is there a better one?

2. I have no idea how to then correctly wire a compatible SCART cable (I'm based in the UK). Has anyone here had any experience with this and can help with the pinout? And do I need to install resistors for any of the SCART pins?

1. that guide should be fine.  if you get a compatable DIN socket, you can do it like here so you dont have to drill holes in the board:

2.  You would have to ask Tim.  Not sure if he put the required resistors or caps on the board or not or is expecting them to be in the cable.  Most likely they are on the board though like the NESRGB.

@mickcris

Thanks so much for that, I've asked viletim about adding any extra resistors.

Resistors or not, do you know how I could wire up a SCART plug for this project? I have all the parts needed.

Wire it like this but use the pc engine pin out instead of neo geo
