Hey guys, I've been wanting to host a raffle for a while, and I realized I have some pretty good games for Steam to pass along.  I'll do some PCE related raffles when I'm able but in the meantime I'd like to offer up these to my forum besties (aka you guys.)

Have at least say... 75 posts of quality forum material (usual "not only in buy/sell threads" yada yada) and just be a likeable sort of person in general.  If you don't meet these requirements, I will accept a plea in the manner of a small essay (long paragraph) on why you want said game so bad.  If it's pretty convincing I'll let you in the raffle.  If you go that route make it entertaining or tell a good anecdote for best results.

Reminder, these are all Steam codes.  I'm doing each game/collection separately, so there will be 4 raffles in the end.  You can enter in any of them you wish, or all of them, just tell me which ones you want in on.  I will pick a winner for each next tuesday.

Winners!:

7th Guest and 11th Hour:
----------------------------
Esteban

Tex Murphy Collection (the 5 classic games, under a killing moon, etc.):
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Esteban

Resident Evil Revelations:
----------------------------
ProfessorProfessorson

Resident Evil 4:
-----------------
Punch

The first 3 games were uncontested.  Below are the results for RE4:

Congrats to the winners!  I'll PM you the activation links shortly.

Everybody else, congrats on your bupkis!

How is 11th Hour? I loved 7th Guest when I was a kid, but I think it didn't age so well. Same with Myst.

11th Hour is one of my backlogged items, so I can't say for sure.  I imagine you'll enjoy it if you have fond memories of the 7th Guest, which was my very first CD-rom game even before Turbo CD.  It's got the nostalgia factor working for it, I also love early cheeseball FMV, horror, and puzzles.  One of these days I will break it out and play it for sure because I like horror themed games but I have a ton of them to get through.  Anyway, feel free to enter the raffle and find out how it is for yourself!  Want in?

Anybody else wanna give these guys some competition?  Esteban has the first two on lock so far!  Tex Murphy is a really cool series of point and click adventure games featuring an old school detective but in a science fiction/future setting.  7th/11th are basically puzzle games at their core, with a horror theme/story wrapped around them.  RE4 needs no introduction, one of the most beloved Resident Evil games.  Most of you probably already have it...  RE: Revelations is a decentish entry in the RE series, it's no REmake, but it's not bad if you like these kind of games.  I can't say it's a A++ title but a solid B-.  It's best on PC I think (I tried it on Wii U and it is just more playable with mouse and keyboard controls.).  Raid mode is great.  Sign up!

11th Hour is an odd one.  First off, it tries to be a lot more ''adult'' then 7th Guest was.  Meaning it has a lot more sexual innuendo thrown in, and it often comes off as trying to hard.  While 7th has a lot of cheesy dialog, 11th has quite a few face-palm moments.

Gameplay wise, it is meant for puzzle masters.  Besides the normal puzzles they added ''treasure hunts'' meaning you get a clue, and then you have to figure out which item in the mansion it's referring to and touch it.  There are about 3 times more of these then the normal puzzles, and 80% of them are anagram based.  They get ludicrously cryptic after only the first hour or so...

Still, as a teenager I enjoyed it, but I think more people will find it frustrating then anything else.  Still though, it's got one hell of an atmosphere and some great tunes.

johnnykonami Tex Murphy series is excellent but I already have my big box versions of Pandora Directive and Under a Killing Moon plus all the series on Steam so that's why I didn't sign up for it. RE4 is a game I still want to try and playing it on PC would be the easiest route.

No problem buddy!  I'm glad to have you in the drawing for it.  Just hoping to drum up a couple more names... I have no problems with just giving the games away to the respective entry holders, though, and that might end up being the case if no one else signs up.

Yeah, don't add me as well. I already own 7th Guest, and if I wanted 11th Hour I'd probably track down the actual discs. Steam isn't my favorite platform for old games. That said, esty is as good as any for getting it.

Cheers!

I am looking forward to trying it soon.  The Night Dive Studios re-release I'm working through at this particular moment is Harvester, and after that I wanted to try Bad Mojo Redux.  And Realms of the Haunting, too!  Man, my Steam backlog is hopeless.  I do try to concentrate on the horror games as they're my favorite genre/theme.

No problem!  He is sure to get them at this rate. :)
