The unfortunate passing of Chris Squire affected us all, it hits us in different ways and also different times, aparently.
My favorite Yes factoid I recently learned: while trying to figure out what the time signature of Close to the Edge is I learned that, aparently, that's a stupid question because I guess they never wrote it down. That whole thing was just...worked out, like how only a great band can work things out. Amazing.
Now that the band is left with no original members I would like to see them continue as a sort of anti-K.I.S.S. That is, the band will operate like a corporation and have a Menundo-esque constantly rotating cast. I think Yes can be the first non-terrible band to do this and make it work if the guiding ideal of making super cool prog forever is respected, rather than the eventual action figure and coffin touring infomercial that K.I.S.S. was always meant to be.
