Bazaru de Gozaru
« on: March 13, 2016, 09:44:34 AM »
Just finished what i assumed to be the last stage in this game (8-10). What a awesome game, I'm surprised it's not more suggested or talked about even. Great music and graphics, and fun and challenging gameplay if you try to collect all the moneybags. The control of the monkey feels really precise as well. Really charming game, i'd put it up with gekisha boy as some of the best unique games for the system.

I just wanted to ask anyone who has played before if the game just ends after 8-10? There was no credit reel or anything so It feels like I'm missing something.

I saw this link to a review posted in an older thread but I can't seem to access it :

Also seems like it had a pretty significant release in japan with alot of extra goodies and plushies of the  awesome main character. I mean look at this stuff:

thoughts on the game?

He's NEC's mascot, that's why all that other stuff exists, that's why this game exists. The monkey mainly sells copiers. Few have played this game.

I have though. I love it. I got stuck, so I don't know the answer to your question. I'm not sure how far I got.

I suppose the reason it doesn't get talked about much here is that it's hundreds of dollars and most of us have only just switched to channel flipping piracy on flash cards as the standard method of playing PCE and this is a CD. Give it another year.

I've cleared this game a couple of years ago and it's great. Some of the levels are tricky and funny at the same time.

It's a shame it's so expensive at the moment.

oh that explains the 2015 calendars i was coming across when looking the game up. if you end up firing up the game and are still stuck i could try giving some hints without giving away the puzzles.

blank cds or emulation is pretty cheap though. Do you remember the end of the game? I'm trying to figure out if I have actually beaten it after clearing 8-10 or if there are some more things to do before reaching the credit roll.

There are ending credits: clicky.  I don't recall doing anything special to trigger 'em.... maybe make sure you've bought one of each type of furnishing for you home and go look at it.

If anyone is stuck, there's a guide in that post too.

Kind of, except there's just the one monkey and you lay out every move he makes before he takes a single step.

That worked! My monkey now lives in a house with cheapo everything except his primo computer and cellphone.

All the merchandise for bazaru is soo cool, i want it. NEC should have used him as the mascot for pc engine and turbografx over bonk.

I don't think Bonk was really ever a mascot for the PCE. If anyone was it was probably Momotaro.

I don't really care for mascots honestly, but you're right, they could have done better.
