Duo V's Duo-R Sound
« on: March 26, 2016, 05:51:18 AM »
Has anybody else noticed the sound difference between a Duo-R and Duo? I've had a Duo-R for some time and just noticed how bright the sound is on a Duo. The two differ so much I'm considering switching to the Duo. The Duo-R sounds muffled and too much low end.

Duo-R and RX were later release that were made with fewer parts so the sound chip may have been muffled a bit by smaller or absent caps.

Is your Duo recapped or not?  Recapped Duo may sound better anyway.

Yes I've just recapped the Duo and it sounds really good now. The Duo-r sounds OK but does not have as much midrange as the Duo. Just wondered if this was common in the Duo-r.
