Alien Isolation is so awesome that you can almost forgive the rushed, half-assed ending they put on the game.

Zelda BotW and Alien Isolation have been the top two games I've played during the last few console generations. I'm glad to have bought a Switch.

Is Alien all stealth?  I love horror games and lI've the Alien franchise, but I HATE stealth games.  I never bothered to pick this one up, because I figured it would be a redo of the first time I played Metal Gear Solid and thought I picked up the worst game ever made.

Alien Trilogy was a fine game, when taken in context of it console FPS contemporaries.

It is but it's done so well that even people like us who don't tend to enjoy the genre (I enjoy MGS' story and atmosphere though) will find much to like about AI. And if you are a fan of the Alien universe it's a must buy!

I have to disagree.

I put 2 hours into it and couldn't sneak by a set of humans, getting game over repeatedly, and I rage quit never returning. I hate most stealth games, love alien, but couldn't stand alien isolation.

I'd say if you're not into stealth games avoid alien isolation. I gave my copy away because I recognized it's quality but it was not my cup of tea.

BoTW is like Earl grey hot though.

Gredler the game dynamics change so much once you get the flamethrower... too bad you gave up on it (now you can't ragequit in the part with the facehuggers)

Binding of Issac is a perfect game while on the go, or for one quick run while taking a shit.

I have it on my PS4 already, but I don't have PS4 shit taking play capabilities.

What games does everyone have so far?

I have Zelda, Bomberman, Blaster Master Zero, Shovel Knight and Fast RMX. I am surprised by Fast RMX's quality.

The Switch works well for my Dorm situation, no need for a tv to take up space.

Will pick up Mario Kart 8, Yooka Laylee and Wonder Boy III remake next month.

I have Zelda, Blaster Master Zero, and Snipper Clippers.

I've spent about 70 hours (!) with Zelda, 5-6 hours with snipper clippers (all co-op with family) and about an hour with Blaster Master. It's a nice cocktail of modern action adventure, classic action aventure, and co-op puzzle platforming.

I want to get Bomberman, but I am waiting for the cheap copies to show up on second hand situations - and by then maybe the bugs will be smoothed out.

I will probably get Mario Kart 8 digitially for it, so whenever I have the switch with me I can bust out multiplayer mario kart on it. I will also be getting Wonder Boy III for it.

I think any multiplatform game that lands between this and any other platform I will grab it on this platform because of the flexability it has in where and how I can play them.

Anyone else experiencing horrendous input lag with Neo Geo titles? Metal Slug 3 is nearly unplayable.

Same here. My Wii U copy transferred over to Switch just like they said it would.

I was initially skeptical about the Switch and was basically just buying it for my 9 year old daughter who is into Nintendo.
Nintendo these days make great consoles primarily for younger children and families. My favourite console ever was the Super Famicom but in more recent years my personal feelings on Nintendo are:
Gamecube= Meh
DS= Some ok games but mostly meh
Wii= Meh (Wife and kids loved it)
3DS= Liked a few games but mostly meh
Wii-U= Meh

So why am I saying this? because the Switch did actually completely catch me by suprise, I really like it, it's the first console they've made since the Super Famicom/SNES (maybe N64) that I'm actually excited about the future and looking forward to new games and buying more games.

Looks like I'm not alone as it's matching the Wii in sales and popularity so far and just read that Nintendo are planning to double the amount they're going to manufacture from 8 million to 16 million.

Saying all that I still can't connect mine to my router, so not able to do any updates yet or buy any download games, looks like I'll have to buy a new router, which pisses me off.

I still think the Switch won't be the second coming of the Wii. Even if i is, remember how desperate Nintendo was to put a new console out of the door due to low software sales (circa 2010 when the fad was over).

I doubt we'll ever see another otherworldly phenomena like the Wii; I doubt grandma's and soccor moms will be picking up another game console so ferociously any time in the future.

I am starting to look forward from Zelda as it winds down - almost up to 80 hours played and I am thinking "what's next".

I've never played Binding of Isaac, so I am considering that as my next physical game purchase; not much else on the horizon I can think of playing next except Xenoblade 2, which I expect a delay on.

Edit:

Looks like there IS a defect in some left joy cons, so if yours is disconnecting often and easily then you can get it repaired. Apparently a variation in manufacturing has caused some to perform poorly.

The joycons that came with my switch seem to be more prone to disconnect than the ones I purchased a couple weeks later separately, so this makes more sense to me.
