Magical Chase loose value?
« on: July 04, 2016, 05:55:09 AM »
Anyone have any insight? I can only search eBay sold listings so far.

$2,140 was the last one sold on eBay in April.

Would $1,550 be a decent price to pick it up loose?

I know its an overhyped game, but besides that. I'm curious to talk numbers

I haven't paid much attention to what they might appear to be selling for, but no other game has as much of an unknown value or unreliable sales history.

I'd expect that most sold listings on eBay are bogus and the ones that do sell are delisted first and sold for an off-site offer.

If it's worth that much to you and you place a lot of value in eBay pricing, then it should be a fair price as far as you're concerned. Did someone offer you one for that price or are you considering offering that much? It's weird to tack that extra $50 onto $1500.

I'm converting from canadian that's why I tacked on the $50, but yeah. There's a guy locally who will let his go for 1.55k USD.

I just want to pay the going rate. Wanna play it/ bring it to local gaming sessions, and potentially sell later if it looses its shine.

Would anyone else buy it at 1.55k USD shipped?

For 1.55k USD, I would make a gold plated repro and tell everyone its a special edition (technically it would be). It'll never lose its shine then ;)

Seems to be around $2kish, I'd agree.  I'm in a similar dilemma as you, have an opportunity to buy the CIB, box wear is about 7/8 of 10 condition wise.  Price seems to be below going rate but also way higher than automatic "no-brainer" value.

It's one of those things where you don't want to throw down that kind of money unless you are in love with the item.  That's a whole lot of money to gamble if you'd just be looking to sell it anyway.  I wouldn't buy it in that case.

If you were rich enough you wouldn't need to ask, so I think the reality is you shouldn't buy this. Is any video game worth this much? I don't know, I don't think so. If you wanted it so bad you could buy a PC engine duo, jp magical chase, Dracula X and    pretty much all the best games for the same price as that one turbo chip.
