Disney Land
« on: August 23, 2016, 10:48:51 AM »
I'm currently in Disney Land Paris for the first time and have to say it's actually really good.
Went on the "The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror" and it scared the living shit out of me.
Originally we wanted to go to Disney Land Florida but couldn't afford it, it's very expensive to go there from the UK for a family of four.

You've got to ride the Aerosmith roller coaster at least 20 times. It's the best.

Florida is a smoldering shithole. Spending more money to see the same ads in what is THE MURDER CAPITAL OF THE WORLD FOR VACATIONING BRITS (true, or at least was a few years ago) wouldn't make a lot of sense. You made the right choice.

If you get a chance to save up and make the trek to Disney World in Florida USA its worth it.  There's so much more than just one theme park.  I think there are maybe 4 theme parks now and a few water parks plus some other non-disney attractions in town too.  I know Disneyland in California isn't even close, not sure about Disneyland Paris though.

Based on these conflicting reports I can only assume that Blue is trying to lure you to Florida to murder you.

Caught me!  Yes on the whole Florida is not all that great.  Though it's my understanding that there are a lot of British retirees living there now.

Florida is America's Dagenham-Brixton-Brighton.

No responses regarding Banksy's Dismaland? I thought at least someone would appreciate that in light of the fact that there is actually IS a Disneyland thread here... and nobody mentioned the recent gator attack. Or how Disneyland has an underground system of catacombs, with jail cells that security will detain you in, that covers the entire park. Or how it's actually NOT fun to wander around there on mushrooms. Or how they make salsa and ranch dressing in 50gal. garbage cans, or how you basically have to take out a second mortgage to spend a week there, or how...

...Oh wait, we're all in our 30's and 40's and having kids is taking over our generation. I guess it's no longer cool to talk shit about Disney. And I didn't even get into trashing any of the movies.

Ha!

I wasn't going to go off on a rant, but I'm not a big Disney fan.

My kids are never going there with me.

If I want to experience hell, I'll choose a different flavor than Disney.

:)

Having a good time and glad I experienced it with my kids, but just coming this once is enough for me as all the long queuing for rides (especially in 36C) is insane.

I'm trying to convince my wife for us to go snow boarding next year holiday/vacation.

A friend of mine proposed to his girlfriend at some fancy restaurant in Disney world. After the wedding, they went back for their honeymoon. I'm not sure why someone without kids would want to go there at all, much less for a honeymoon.

I actually spent about an hour watching videos on that. I enjoy art but only for its face value. You lose me when someone starts explaining how a Little Mermaid statue has political significance. Anyway, it was an interesting art show and I would have gone had I lived nearby.
Arkhan: Im not butthurt by your enjoyment.  Im buttglad.
