Princess tomato on the NES?
« on: January 13, 2017, 06:01:18 AM »
Recently found this game, thought it looked ABSURD so I had to pop it into my nes. After 15 minutes of playing I was pleasantly surprised  O:)

I'm not sure what type of game you would call this, but it's kind of like a point-and-click adventure. A game type I have never given a chance to (still haven't played beyond shadow Gate :( ).

To say the least, the dialogue is hilarious. I've been very busy with work lately so I haven't had time to play it more, but I was curious if anybody else has. I haven't really read anything about its gameplay before, so its price tag probably reflects its rarity rather then it's playability. As I believe it's closer to $100

And i mean.. any game with that f*cking bee i have to try haha

Has anyone else had experiences with this title?? Here's some eye candy aka vegetarian porn

Yes, it has 3D Dungeons and a lot of charm. I like it, it's one of Hudson's more unknown games.

Thats what it is! Yeah, It has charm and personality to it. Bright vibrant colours, i guess you could say it's even warming.

Have you played through it before? Any overly cryptic sections or general complaints?

I played through it ... at least 20 years ago. So my memory is more than a little vague.

Yeah, I don't remember anything other than seeing that box and letting my friend buy it (this was mid 90s).

Yes! My friend rented this in middle school. He thought it sucked, but I loved it. Played through the entire game in one sitting.

Its one that I would like to have again, but as you mentioned its a Bit pricey. For some reason I don't mind spending that kind of money on tg16/pce games, but I can't do it for other consoles.

This is one of those games I checked out when I got back into video games in the late 90's. A lot of early websites/forums mentioned that this was an under appreciated Hudson game. :)

I might be getting one CIB from a friend here within the month, so i might have an extra. Message me if you're interested :)

It must not be a too terribly long game, unless you're one of those people that can sit for 12 hours straight haha. Any complaints/gripes with how it plays? I'm up for a challenge if there's any parts that are overly cryptic !

I think it was about a 15 hr marathon. I pulled an all nighter lol It sucked me in though.

Its been so long since I played it, but I don't believe there are any places too cryptic. Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to finish it so quickly. Because I do recall being pretty much delirious from lack of sleep when I finished it. Lol

Can't say I have ever played it. I remember seeing a Nintendo Power review of this back in the day, but then again I was more into Dragon Warrior/Bards Tale/Wizardry/Ultima to care. :P

Oh wow 15 hours, considering that it is a RPG on the NES that sounds pretty long. You must be a fan of veggie tales as well then to have pushed yourself so far to beat the game in one sitting  :D

I have played it and bought a loose copy myself maybe two years ago?  It's fun and this thread reminds me I have yet to pick up uninvited.

I have also yet to finish the PT game. I don't even remember where I left off. Might want to start it up again.
