Not really.  But for some reason with this game when I seen the title I was thinking a Sid Meier's Civilization type game.

Syd is their given name, they aren't related and it's not a sim term/title.

Aside from the screenshots on the case of both versions, Terraforming is exactly the kind of thing you should expect from Syd Mead.

If anything, Civilization should be horribly disappointing that it's not Snatcher or Rise of the Dragon.

I have nothing against the gameplay.  Lords of Thunder is one of my favorites.  It just wasn't what I was expecting.
